nslsm··on If America's so rich, how'd it get so sad?
>Just to state the obvious: 2020 was the year of COVID, which played hell with peoples' social lives.

No, it was government mandates that played hell with peoples' social lives.

nslsm··on To Protect and Swerve: NYPD Cop Has 547 Speeding Tickets
…yes? My point is if someone can break the law 547 times and no one is affected then the law is stupid.
nslsm··on To Protect and Swerve: NYPD Cop Has 547 Speeding Tickets
Has he ever hit something or someone? If the answer is no, then speeding laws are too strict and must change.
nslsm··on Who Killed the Florida Orange?
The Irishman taught me how to put vodka into a watermelon.
nslsm··on What killed the Florida orange?
Why not just eat the orange. I can't be the only one who finds eating the pulp alone icky. Like chewing on a damp rag.
nslsm··on Why Musicians Are Manufacturing Sold-Out Shows
I thought venues paid artists.
nslsm··on In the UK, EVs are cheaper than petrol cars, thanks to Chinese competition
The goal is that if you’re poor you can’t own a car.
nslsm··on Smoking ban for people born after 2008 in the UK agreed
Given the population pyramid, it would be impossible for them to change the law until they are well into old age.
nslsm··on Smoking ban for people born after 2008 in the UK agreed
It’s awesome to decide what your children, once they are adults, can’t do? Seems borderline psychopathic. Kinda sums up democracy in current times though.

nslsm··on A Roblox cheat and one AI tool brought down Vercel's platform
I can see how this happened: the employee was home, his kid wanted to play some roblox, he installed roblox and gave the kid the laptop, the kid decided to install the cheat.
nslsm··on At long last, InfoWars is ours
I don’t see what’s so funny about them, especially the last one.
nslsm··on All phones sold in the EU to have replaceable batteries from 2027
> I suppose someone will say that this law is necessary for environmental reasons, regardless of people's preferences.

Welcome to democracy and lawmaking in 2026. We know better than you!

nslsm··on All phones sold in the EU to have replaceable batteries from 2027
Damn, recently I had a phone with a battery that wasn’t properly glued and it would turn off when shaken. I hope this doesn’t become the norm from now on.
nslsm··on Louisiana Advances One of the Country's 'Cruelest' Anti-Homeless Bills
Citation needed.
nslsm··on The RAM shortage could last years
>The grid in every country is getting ridiculously stressed by datacenters.

In every country? Citation needed.

nslsm··on Thoughts and feelings around Claude Design
Thankfully the CRUD app that is being developed by some random startup is not likely to cause as much harm as the THERAC.
nslsm··on Thoughts and feelings around Claude Design
It's very easy to know when code is wrong: it doesn't work the way it's expected to. So you explain to the AI what's wrong and the AI fixes it.
nslsm··on Flock Condemns False Child Predator Allegations, Yet Calls Critics Terrorists
It’s a democracy when people vote for what I want.
nslsm··on Flock Condemns False Child Predator Allegations, Yet Calls Critics Terrorists
Yes, in his texts Cleisthenes was pretty clear that AI cameras weren't acceptable in a democracy.
nslsm··on Why is IPv6 so complicated?
The dhcp server is in the router, just like you need a router for slaac.
nslsm··on Why is IPv6 so complicated?
So, like ipv4, but you lose the protection and privacy afforded by the NAT?
nslsm··on Why is IPv6 so complicated?
Now compare average income to see how much this matters.

nslsm··on Japan implements language proficiency requirements for certain visa applicants
The solution to a low fertility rate is to… destroy the country? What’s the difference?
nslsm··on KLM cancels 160 flights due to fuel shortage
Because the next one won’t bend the knee to Israel.
nslsm··on Japan implements language proficiency requirements for certain visa applicants
It looks like they are proud of their country and want to keep it as is. They’ve seen what limitless immigration did to other countries and want none of it. Respect to them.
nslsm··on YouTube users get option to set their Shorts time limit to zero minutes

nslsm··on Keep Android Open
> It kills me to think that the bad parts of Apple are so interwoven into Android through cultural assimilation.

It’s more like Android is worse so they don’t want to use it. Dogfooding is good, of course, but if they don’t force them to do it, they will naturally choose the best phone. Which is not an Android.
