notrly1337··on Ask HN: When's the last time you went 12 hours or more without a cell phone?
In prison I had no phone for the first year. Then smuggled one illegally. Not joking.
notrly1337··on Ask HN: Why does software development take so long?
This. Aside from identifying specs and implementing them correctly.

The development toolchain becomes inherently slow and things like CI/CD are often brittle and not implemented until their returns have severely diminished.

notrly1337··on Ask HN: Has it suddenly become exceedingly hard to attract full-time employees?
I believe he means there's a big commitment to get somebody going into a project. To create value, engineers need to be involved in many aspects of the product, which takes time for both parties, which is paid by the employer.
notrly1337··on Ask HN: Why Rust?
For me, because of the performance (machine code) and interoperability (can link and build shared libraries and static objects) of C at no additional cost. Also, I find it future-proof because it does all what C does, but better and look how long has C been used, even for greenfield projects.
notrly1337··on Ask HN: What is your biggest problem?
I'm in prison. not even joking
