- @jboggan, agreed. YC knows how to pick em.
- We're only planning on one acquisition for now.
- Yep, it's a mix of cash and equity -- we haven't quite finalized all the details -- and everything will vest (as is standard), but you'll at least be able to buy a car on day one.
- The equity is valued based on our Series A valuation, which, unfortunately, was substantially less than $100 trillion :-)
- It's definitely an expensive proposition for us, but awesome people make awesome companies, so we think it's worth it.

Fair point about "no connection between a and b".
What I should have said was something like: Why is it important that a come before b chronologically? If we were mistaken, and we thought that b came first, then what we would be seeing is "progression from the mean".
Does the concept of regression to the mean depend on the chronology of events? That would be weird -- most probability doesn't, right?
If you do poorly on the first test, the x-coordinate is low/close to y-axis. You're then expected to do better on the second test, so the y-coordinate is high. This will flatten the left half of the line.
As you said, if you do well on the first test, the x-coordinate is high, and the y-coordinate is low. This will flatten the right half of the line.
Right?

"It became fabled as a metaphor for opulence, most famously in the English Romantic Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem Kubla Khan."
Also a good point on the photo. It's about the only "bounce" stock photo I could find... I'll poke around and see if anything else might work, though.
Thanks for your suggestions!
a) I use the Yahoo BOSS index of your site to find other pages that would fit the search query well.
b) If the site isn't indexed then SearchEkko just doesn't display the widget at all.
c) Haha well it certainly tries to give the site owner front and center real-estate. It also displays up to 4 results, if they're available (not shown in the demo).
d) Excellent points. It's early -- I just wanted to see if there was any demand for the product before I spent too much more time on it.
e) I don't think that it really works very well in a sidebar. It would be hard to display the other hits attractively, and I don't think it as noticeable to the visitor. I played around with it, and 480px seemed as short as I could reasonably go.
f) Good to know. It's something I've been working on, and I'll try to clarify it.
Thanks again!

To measure this properly, perhaps we could look at the eagerness with which children learn programming now as compared to fifteen or twenty years ago.
I guess I don't really get where the tension is in the three options. Usually, e.g., you get more options but have to pay more. He seems to hint that handset makers and carriers trade autonomy for more polished software, but doesn't really make it clear.
