nigrioid··on How can we stop the CO2 that plants store from leaking back into the air?
Sorry if that gave you the impression I was upset. I do think it's a little rich to consider the Guardian a "source" though.

All I'm trying to say is that the predominant type of person on this website is pretty smart and should know better. The "tinfoil hat conspiracy nut" stereotype has been incredibly effective at dissuading people from trying to peek behind the curtain. I understand that it's a tough pill to swallow, but it's a pretty serious situation that we're on the verge of dismantling and effectively criminalizing energy infrastructure that has taken decades and decades to build based on completely bogus propaganda.

Haven’t you ever noticed how every Guardian article is based on fear to keep you thinking exactly what they want?
nigrioid··on NASA's Curiosity Mars rover gets a major software upgrade
I hope it was written in Rust to keep us safe.
nigrioid··on Refrigerator with 'green' isobutane refrigerant explodes inside home
Here's another video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A169-s4KHFQ

They never mention anything about new refrigerants being flammable. They always just say "we've never seen anything like this!"

But they can't be bothered to have adequate contrast between the white text and the cloud it's covering.
nigrioid··on Defamed by ChatGPT
It really is incredibly irresponsible for Microsoft to have integrated "AI" into Bing this early.

It's the prototype for the NWO. Only half joking.
nigrioid··on The Move to Memory-Safe Programming
What's going to happen is an overconfidence in the absence of memory-related issues and an increase in the exploitation of other classes of bugs.

nigrioid··on Tesla ‘spontaneously’ caught fire on highway in Sacramento County: officials
It's pretty scary that these battery fires don't require oxygen to burn. That's mostly why they are so hard to deal with; you can't just deprive the fire of oxygen to extinguish it.

nigrioid··on Memory Safe Languages in Android 13
Rust apologists believe they are going to save the world. In order for them to do so, they have to uproot, destroy (deem it unsafe and insecure), and rewrite a lot of things they don't yet have influence over. A lot of people who are pushing back against Rust are doing so because they can sense this coercion, not because the language is ugly or "memory safety" issues aren't as significant as they are made out to be, or whatever other arguments the stupid "c-niles" always use.
