nickthegreek··on New statue in London, attributed to Banksy, of a suited man, blinded by a flag

I don’t understand this. What speaks pro-establishment in this piece?

nickthegreek··on Show HN: AI CAD Harness
I'd love something like this for FreeCAD.

What if I tell you u can use the agent directly with seerr. That way you don't have to make or maintain skills/mcps for each of the services.

OP said he does local inference, and you are complaining about 'wastefulness'. OP brought the request service to where his friends already were. For them, this is probably the better solution. Seerr cannot expose itself to discord/telegram and requires users to have another account. I mean, sure you can have the AI code those too.

There are plenty of ways to solve problems, and some people do it differently. Sometimes, just to see if it works. This is a good thing. Not everyone has the time nor inclination to maximize efficiency.

nickthegreek··on Claude Code refuses requests or charges extra if your commits mention "OpenClaw"
I do a see a tweet saying something about that, which I had to search for and only did because of your post. But remember, this only came about after denying him the refund first (while thanking him for the 'bug' and told they would fix the problem) and it going viral on HN and X.

I'm sure they will proactively reach out to everyone who was affected without any need on the users part and make everyone whole....

It doesnt decline if you have API billing enabled, it straight up charges your request to API instead of Quota if setup (see $200 charge example below). This is happening if you have the words HERMES.md or OpenClaw apparently in the commit. In OP's example, it immediately depleted his session quota because of the words. That is not 'declining to operate'. Also, remember, it is the presence of the words. So if the commit was 'we dont do this, we arent openclaw', you are affected.

The user did not do anything against the TOS. This isnt about running OpenClaw, its about having the words OpenClaw present in a file.
nickthegreek··on Claude Code refuses requests or charges extra if your commits mention "OpenClaw"
What action did the user take that was against the TOS?

And the stealing of $200 here? More non malice?

Tbh, I am unsure. The things I needed were extremely simple and I could have used TinkerCAD or freeCAD, but I wanted to experiment. It was actually way faster with ChatGPT/OpenSCAD as I wanted to be able to hot swap SVG's to create different shaped tokens to print on my Bambu P1S with AMS.

nickthegreek··on Mistral Medium 3.5
2 businesses working to get money from the same customers in the same field is competition. Kellogs is competing with store brand cereal. People are choosing to use these Chinese AI apis because they are good enough for some workflows and cheaper. If they didn't exist, the money would go to the frontier labs. There is no world where this would not be defined as competition.

already works well enough for a few projects for me in OpenSCAD.

Absolutely insane request.
nickthegreek··on Tariffs Raised Consumers' Prices, but the Refunds Go Only to Businesses
> Importantly, journalists in media, classically inept at any economic analysis, implied that 10% tariff = 10% RRP rise. They never corrected themselves, nor for the economists who falsely claimed the economy would collapse.

Lovely strawman.

nickthegreek··on White House accuses China of 'industrial scale' theft of AI technology
White House wants to call distillation theft, but not the training of the models is a bit wild to me.
nickthegreek··on Claude Code to be removed from Anthropic's Pro plan?
My leverage is i’m canceling my plan. Openai gives me codex+chatgpt for my $20. I use my claude code sparingly, but I enjoyed it and it works great when I needed it. Access to it was a reason they got my money a few months ago and it’s been a shit show of reduction of services since.
nickthegreek··on Kimi K2.6: Advancing open-source coding
This isn't even a normal pelican image post, this one created the html control system that animates the distance the wing travels from its pivot in time with the rotation of the wheel speed. Let's not pretend this is a solved problem and models are dumping about perfect pelicans on bikes one after another (or ever?).

Surely, you know someone makes the same post you did every time one is posted. Surly you see the answers and pushback since you are familiar with these posts. Genuine question, did you expect a different answer this time?

nickthegreek··on OpenClaw isn't fooling me. I remember MS-DOS
As someone who has openclaw and HA. HA can very much do alot of what I do in OpenClaw but would take more initial work but would be better in the long run.

You could be doing for ALOT cheaper using something like minimax m2.7 for subagents. You dont need to be throwing all that cash out the door.

nickthegreek··on Ask HN: Who is using OpenClaw?
minimax 2.7 is great at smaller tasks. I use it for simple subagents and it is capable and I don’t come close to using the quota.
nickthegreek··on Ask HN: Who is using OpenClaw?
You are making a lot of assumptions.
