Not even a little like the headline, Steele sounds like a generationally smart intellectual.
nibsfive··on China's Microsoft Hack May Have Had a Bigger Purpose
Highly recommend reading Stealth War if you want to understand China. I have a better understanding of China, and much less understanding for weird US posture as a result.
nibsfive··on China’s Xi calls for wealth redistribution and clampdown on high incomes
Freedom with Chinese characteristics.

nibsfive··on Imperfect Vaccination Can Enhance the Transmission of Highly Virulent Pathogens
Covid is not a highly virulent pathogen. Virulence means severity, like things with 80% CFR rates becoming things with 100% CFR rates.
nibsfive··on Why Don’t Tech Companies Pay Their Engineers to Stay?
I give 40% raises for this reason. So stupid to let your best people walk out the door. Just shower them with cash!

By Apple* no less.
nibsfive··on Driving 1725km in an electric car in 2 days
I have a model Y 7 seater, it's actually not bad in the third row. Kids totally fine, small adults for short trips. Over six feet would hit the roof though.

No, the vaccinated. To prevent actual spread.
nibsfive··on Early signs Covid-19 vaccines may not stop Delta transmission, England says
For the people in the back: intramuscular vaccines do not precent viral reproduction in your nose, meaning you can still spread a virus. Only nasal delivery prevents it. We need nasal boosters, not more intramuscular shots.
nibsfive··on Vaccinated and unvaccinated people have similar viral loads of delta variant
For the people in the back: intramuscular vaccines do not necessarily reduce viral load in your nasal passage but do make it much harder for the virus to reproduce in worse places. Nasal vaccines would do this which is why we need them for covid.

I don't think the universe has reached some kind of natural ceiling on unhappy customers so in terms of startups, no. Plenty of unhappy customers out there!
nibsfive··on Canada leads the world in % of population fully vaccinated
On the contrary, Canadians are clearly more sane than what the US is doing. The lockdowns here notwithstanding.

Also Canadian and vaccinated.

nibsfive··on Three quarters of infected in Massachusetts outbreak were vaccinated, CDC says
This is why we need nasal vaccines. The current vaccines prevent escalation but not initial replication in the nose.

Finance policy makers aren't smart enough to navigate finance policy.
nibsfive··on Private Schools Have Become Truly Obscene
We should have schools for future Elons, not future Trump's.
nibsfive··on Current Theories of Obesity Are Inadequate
Nutrient density. Organisms will consume as much nutrient sources as needed to meet micronutrient requirements. If food gets less micro dense, as it has, our bodies are compelled to eat more until our needs are met.
nibsfive··on mRNA vaccine technology moves to flu: Moderna says trial has begun
You know now that we know diseases can be magically solved in two months of science we can't let them off the hook. Why not solve it by next fall?
nibsfive··on Australians ‘prisoners’ of Covid as country cuts international arrivals
Australia is basically "very poorly executed China clone" at this point. Weirdly affected by their propaganda but also totally lacking the organizational effectiveness.

If money stopped being a measure of value, it would stop being a valuable measure.

nibsfive··on Apple developers grow App Store ecosystem billings and sales by 24 percent in 2
Look over there, we're not a monopoly. The new monopoly playbook is "look what I'm doing for SMBs". Similar to racketeering.
