nerdbaggy··on Cisco FMC static credential vulnerability exploited as a zero-day
There have been a TON of static creds on Cisco gear. Seems like a system wide engineering issue

nerdbaggy··on A.I. companies are recruiting electricians and carpenters by the thousands
At least in NYC IBEW has mandatory furlough, months without work, etc. And the members are stuck because they will get fined if they work for a non union place.
nerdbaggy··on HTTP Caching, a Refresher
These are still used in CDN and internal browser caching
nerdbaggy··on Chromium Browser DoS Attack via Document.title Exploitation
I can’t think of the wording right now but generally JS trying to crash the browser would say something like this page is taking a long time, do you want to wait. Something like that. In this case the browser just crashes.

It does seem like it’s full of AI. The Attack Scenarios are very suspicious.

Gitlab CI can do that. https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/ci/caching/#compute-the-cache-key...

nerdbaggy··on Company offers unofficial security patches for Windows 10 until 2030
That is a different product. LSTC != IoT LSTC, it is so confusing. To get the IoT you have to sign lots of contracts, Microsoft sends you stickers to put on each stuff, stuff like that.
nerdbaggy··on What's up Python? Django get background tasks, a new REPL, bye bye gunicorn
You should check out Huey next time. It is a lifesaver for us. Allows us to do the tasks via SQLite db
nerdbaggy··on About the Tailscale.com outage on March 7, 2024
I wonder what provider they use for their website. Sounds like a lot of hoops to jump through for IPV6 when just about any other provider has IPv6 support.
nerdbaggy··on Amtrak adds more service throughout the US Northeast Corridor to meet demand
I use it to get to the airport. No issue with luggage and cheaper than airport long term parking

Well for one there is a hard limit of 1000 s3 buckets per account
nerdbaggy··on Jetbrains unbundling AI assistant doing the right thing
Hopefully this will disable the horrible on device AI as well

Ohh yup. Looking at the merge it allows people to reset other users passwords.

I was also able update my instance.

nerdbaggy··on Nokia unveils AI that can reconfigure networks through human speech
The WiFi RF is FAR more important than the network config.
nerdbaggy··on Show HN: FrameOS – operating system for single function smart frames
What is your opinion on brighysigns? While the default software is kinda crap the programability of them has been great for us. But we aren’t very far in.

So far it has been 8+ hours. It aligns almost the same time as GCP us-cental1 issue today. No idea if it is related https://status.cloud.google.com/incidents/qmF2nGxWvPTHkncXqH...

nerdbaggy··on Alpine Linux does not make the news
Alpine and musl were originally crated for embedded devices, hence the small size. It is interesting how it has become so popular in docker. https://musl.libc.org/about.html
nerdbaggy··on Alpine Linux does not make the news
It has actually been around since 2008. I’m not sure how it became so popular for docker. https://wiki.alpinelinux.org/wiki/Alpine_Linux:Trivia
nerdbaggy··on Musl: List of alternative libs that are lightweight, not bloated and efficient
I really like Alpine for making vm images. It is extremely easy to make the VM only run in memory or in data disk mode where the code is in ram but the files are persisted to disk with snapshots

nerdbaggy··on Air Purifier vs. Positive Pressure Fresh Air System – An Unfair Battle?
Yeah they are expensive but the best I have found. The 45i is for like 700 square feet for $400. The nice part about Alen purifiers is the filters last just about a year and lifetime warranty
nerdbaggy··on Air Purifier vs. Positive Pressure Fresh Air System – An Unfair Battle?
I use the Alen Air 75i and have no issues getting my PM2.5 to 0

nerdbaggy··on WebRTC support being added to FFmpeg
I wish there was a better way to scale receiver feedback. It is very hard/impossible to scale without the server saving every frame and being able to come up with the frames as needed.
