neilkelty··on A Breakup Letter to Facebook from Eat24
Seems like a bit of a PR stunt to be honest, we'll see if they follow through...

neilkelty··on Rdio is Now Free on the Web
I believe it just opens up a "web version" within the desktop app, but I could be wrong.

Still love the service, I don't have much use for "Offline" capability on my laptop/desktop - the mobile/tablet apps serve that need just fine.

neilkelty··on Ask HN: Year End Person Financial review software
Why aren't you happy with Mint.com?
neilkelty··on The NSA Reportedly Has Total Access To The Apple iPhone
Couldn't this be accomplished simply by creating apps that deal with contacts, photos, camera, etc. and then having users download and accept the permissions themselves.

For example, imagine that any one of the contact or calendar management apps where you "Allow xxxxx to access your contacts" was produced by the NSA under the guise of an innovative startup.

neilkelty··on CSS Zen Garden relaunched
Was at a conference last October where Dave Shea talked about the impact of CSS Zen Garden - but said that the web didnt need it or another one anymore. I wonder what changed his mind?
neilkelty··on One cost engineers and product managers don't consider
Solving problems sells software - features are just one way of getting there.
neilkelty··on Log in to Yahoo by July 15th to keep your email address
Yes, but its unlikely that an online game account was associated as the password reset contact account for confidential financial/banking websites.
neilkelty··on Log in to Yahoo by July 15th to keep your email address
Won't this mean that anyone with the new account will immediately be drowned with all the spam of whoever had that account before?
neilkelty··on Log in to Yahoo by July 15th to keep your email address
Any recommendations on how I can identify any accounts that I've registered on Yahoo over the years? I don't think that I've sent anything important to them that would still be emailing sensitive information, but can't be sure - as I never planned for the scenario in which they'd essentially turn access to my email over to a third party.
neilkelty··on US intelligence mining data from 9 US Internet companies in broad secret program
Hasn't this NSA stuff been pretty much public knowledge for years? Why are people acting like they've been had all of a sudden?

Those aren't Dropbox employees.

That leaves no incentive to keep running Trello.

neilkelty··on On 81st birthday, Oregon man gives company to employees (2010)
Reminds me of Chuck Feeney - who made billions and then gave it all away/set up a foundation, including giving $26 million to long term employees.

Great book on him called `The Billionaire Who Wasn't`

neilkelty··on Wingman: Git + GitHub + OS X
I stand corrected (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wingman).
neilkelty··on A Minimum Tax for the Wealthy
I don't think forking over extra cash is exactly on the same line as putting your life on the line in a war. I'm not sure that's a fair comparison.
neilkelty··on A Minimum Tax for the Wealthy
Not quite sure why it's an absurd response?
neilkelty··on A Minimum Tax for the Wealthy
If Mr. Buffet is so concerned about the amount of taxes paid by the wealthy he should use this simple form (https://www.pay.gov/paygov/forms/formInstance.html?agencyFor...) to set an example.
neilkelty··on Wingman: Git + GitHub + OS X
Wingman is a friend you take to the bar, not an airplane. But props on your app/startup - pretty damn slick UI.
neilkelty··on Show HN: What I built 6 months into learning to code
I'd suggest a clear way to unsubscribe from those SendGrid emails or they're going to start getting marked as spam.
neilkelty··on NFL opens Pandora's Box by offering All-22 tape to public
I was commenting specifically on the 3 hour "live game experience" shown on CBS, FOX, etc. I'm not sure most of the market wants the type of analysis that would be required to give coverage to the 22-Man views. They just want to watch the game, not think about strategy.

However, there are certainly people (myself included), who would gladly pay the small fee here to better understand the strategy behind the game.

neilkelty··on NFL opens Pandora's Box by offering All-22 tape to public
It's a user experience question - the tv is optimized for fans interested in watching the game action, not analyzing all the strategy.
neilkelty··on Want to Block Common Passwords? Sorry, That is Patented
I would not recommend taking advice on complicated matters of international intellectual property law from a Q&A site on the Internet. Go talk to a lawyer.
