I remember walking to school in elementary school, later taking the bike for 20 min or public transportation. I don't live in a particularly dense area.
Is Boston too sparsely populated to have schools in walking or biking distance?
Seems that we accept distances of 1-2 km for elementary school walks. (0.6 to 1.2 miles)
If you're in a high density area, the mobile network will push the device to small range cells (handover), or tell the device which other cells are available in that area (list of neighbor cells).
However, the smartphone is not required to search for a base station all the time. It receives hints from the network.
I find myself paying for apps that make hitting the snooze button complicated. Captchas. Math. You name it.
Is there any combination of sensors that gives the smartphone an idea if I'm properly awake? Not talking about light sleep vs dreaming here. More the "will he get out of bed" kind.
Works in many hot places around the world. AC can be complementary, but you dramatize.
