I also have decent memories from Sweden, I've been living there for a few years. Apart from stolen bike (worldwide phenomenon) and housing scam (classic Uppsala) it was fine. But rising power of SD in Sweden is very worrying. On the one hand you have some immigrants that are not always on-board with advances that Swedish society did and on the other you have nazis. Not sure about SD support now but it was over 10% last time I checked and much more in the north.
Colemak here, switched something like 6y ago. I was training with few programs to learn to touch type properly (my qwerty was touch type level but bad, wrong fingers pressing wrong buttons etc). The one I used to most on Mac is called Type Fu, but there are many others. I trained for ~10m for some time while using qwerty normally. I made total switch when I could type 40wpm on Colemak. After 2 weeks it was 60wpm. Very happy with it.
There was a great thread some time ago on HN about PKB (personal knowledge base). You might find there a lot of info. It prompted me to look for new solutions, I made a good progress but I'm still not happy. The best thing I use and can recommend is TiddlyWiki. I keep it in Dropbox so I can access it on mobile.
Really? Some US soldiers in Iraq looked very young, maybe 20? How many years of training can you get before they deploy you, maybe two? Most professions require more training.
Families of victims can sue. Like with Yukos case, foreign Russian assets can be arrested to pay for damages. It will probably take many, many years and maybe one of future Russian governments will decide that it is better to close that case. There where so many victims that its almost certain that some families will keep pushing this case forever.
Why do you bundle fizbuzz with some legit algorithms that require some knowledge? Fizzbuzz is a gimmick, deliberately picked as something very simple to filter out clowns. I can't imagine a more simple programming task. Any suggestions? ;)
Could you elaborate? I'm in a place where stuff does not matter anymore (never did actually) and I try to focus on experiences. Is that path also a mistake?
Very cool! It seems that you weight karma a lot. In 2016 3rd book is about fractals (I'm sure its great) but probably only because its recommended by user with 110k karma ;)
On the other-hand its a great idea to find less popular gems. Perhaps you can consider both options?
It's in the description, "Long-time Advantage users will rejoice to learn that we’ve replaced the mushy, rubber function keys with high-performance Cherry ML switches that offer the same low-force and tactile properties of the MX Brown.". Great change but I guess I will not drop 350$ just for that ;)
You got one. 'Thinking Fast and Slow' by Daniel Kahneman. Sometimes people don't optimize long term and just prefer to get 'daily' rate and go back to their families. This might turn bad if sth happens and they can't ride for some time and could use the 'rain' money. Book is really good, highly recommended.
Where do you got that data? Russia has 2500 2000s+ era MBTs? Where? Which ones? Armata is not in mass production yet. The only other modern tanks you 'could' consider is T-90 and maybe T-72B3 which is deep modernization. Both are old designs actually. Still, it would be hard to find 2000 of them.
