natas··on How Zillow's homebuying scheme lost $881M
Based on S4 forms, Zillow execs made a cumulative $1.3B from what might have been called a ponzi scheme, so it was overall well played.
natas··on Bitcoin consumed 134 TWh in total during 2021
That's little compared to how much is burnt by the traditional financial system, including corporations, employees, etc.

natas··on Ask HN: Strategies to land fully remote $250k+ job
When I came to the US I worked and earned $47/hr as a developer, I was employed as a consultant and had one client whom paid the consulting company $550/hr for my services. I worked over 40h/week but my pay was capped at 40h. I worked this job for 3 years. It was a bit of a sweat shop, but it worked out as after 3 years I was able to get a much better paid job.

natas··on After 18 years, SCO's IBM litigation may be settled for $14.5M
This wouldn't have been possible with a judge that ignorant.
natas··on After 18 years, SCO's IBM litigation may be settled for $14.5M
This is probably the best ending the Linux community could have hoped for; however, I'm dismayed that SCO burnt itself in flames, it was actually a very good operating system; not GNU/Linux-good, but very good back in the days. I understand they lost a lot of business to Linux (so did Microsoft etc.) and that's how the system works; but they were "stuck" because they couldn't open it as it held files with various copyrights (AT&T, Novel, etc.) whom wouldn't have agreed to this. What could/should have they done instead? Well, I can't think of anything as most of the commercial unix vendors are gone now (Irix, Solaris, Tru64, etc.).
natas··on Rep. Takano Introduces Legislation to Reduce the Standard Workweek to 32 Hours
So that means people will earn even less? how is that a good thing? This won't reduce the money supply or the discrepancy between poor and rich, it will just make the poor even poorer.
natas··on IBM Z/OS v2.5, Next-Gen Operating System Designed for Hybrid Cloud and AI
good but can it run crysis?
natas··on [dead]
this lawsuit has no merit, it's very common tactic and they just want to get some sort of settlement by abusing the judicial system. I hope coinbase countersues them.

natas··on Security incident compromised Washingtonians’ personal information
how many hundreds of millions do we need to lose before we elect competent auditors?
natas··on Security incident compromised Washingtonians’ personal information
Pat McCarthy needs to go; under her governance hundreds of millions of dollars went missing, and now, they leaked records of millions of Americans.

natas··on T-Mobile to share customers' data with advertisers unless they opt out
I've also tried to email their privacy team using the email address they have provided, as I couldn't opt out (it threw an error), and it bounced right away with a message indicating that they were not monitoring this email address.
