Well... At least the infrastructure isn't falling apart and crime isn't rampant...in rich neighbourhoods.
This is one of many absolutely ridiculous things the airline industry has enforced.
But.. I must fly places, so I just suffer like the rest.
I bet the development effort was small and cheap, and the least expensive part.
Every single time I read that, my stupid brain swaps it out for Beyoncé
Stock options.. Is this the same sort of thing?
A friend of mine keeps telling me his options will be worth millions, and I should join them. I'll be retired in 5 years, etc.
Or is it this ratio I see mentioned where its really 20:1 odds on such a thing?
I find it all a bit confusing, and frankly I'm good at computers and not business.
The words meaning sure hadn't changed, but I imagine the longer its mainstream the more it will morph. Soon we won't be allowed to say it at all, lest we offend somebody with the slur.
They found Facebook posts where some dude said hiyas, did some police work and got him.
Found an article: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-36437856
This isn't quite the same, but validates the point you are making for sure.
The Internet, in many mainstream areas, has become something fascinating to me. My concern historically has been government censorship, but I've realized, perhaps later than most, the self censorship / Hall monitors of the internet are far more dangerous.
And this is true of right wing or left wing forums. It self regulates to a point where only approved ideas can be discussed in an approved way.
I don't see a way out.
Censorship is needed because the minority of loud people make it mandatory.
Censorship is too big of a job for people to get it right. And AI, frankly, is way to stupid.
I wish there was an answer.
Oddly this applies to all manner of forums. Not just politics. It's human nature, amplified.
Using the roaming feature and taking that dish on a road trip, let me tell you, starlink was amazingly fast.
The closer you are to nowhere the better it is.
Its really just the same problems cellular operators experience. They just need more sectors and higher density in crowded areas.
I'm using a Roku streambar with a couple of wireless speakers. Still poo audio. And I'm not convinced a system of higher cost and quality would solve it.
Like.. Imagine Yellowstone blowing. Whoever survives the winter is gonna be the ones who knap.
Facebook took off like email. In many respects, it's true value is network address book in my opinion. And focus should be on that, as opposed to building a social network.
Like in my home town, C# is king.
Here's some things I've learned: - age based promotions are real. Not intentionally, but people hire themselves. Most senior leaders are older. They don't trust somebody who doesn't share their world views. - my biggest regrets are when I was not a good person in life. As I age, what haunts me is the stuff I did that wronged people. That friend I lost. That girl I was meaner than I should have been. My failed marriage. Etc.
My advice.
Nobody really knows why the hell they are doing. We are all that teenager in some form. Just be honest. Reliable. Enthusiastic. And most importantly, it's a balance.. Say when you want a bigger role.
As a leader I can tell you when somebody says nothing and are good at their jobs, assumed happy. If somebody says, hey I'm thinking of my next step.. Any advice? Or I want to be X.. I'll do whatever I can to help. So will most people...IF you are deemed worth taking a chance on.
Devs are expensive, sure, but I'm never hiring a dev who knows a single language. That's a red flag. Personally speaking. Like people who edit files in nano.
