mus1cfl0w··on Show HN: I'm building an app to replace Overleaf and Notion
Self hosting is a must for many companies working with strict regulatory compliance and security requirements. This is not exclusive to Germany and something I’m dealing with daily in the US..
mus1cfl0w··on Inflation Bites U.S. Engineering Salaries
You’re right to some extent but are omitting the potentially hefty exit tax depending on your net worth/income, see https://www.greenbacktaxservices.com/knowledge-center/exit-t...
mus1cfl0w··on Show HN: Kuberentes – The client source IP preservation dilemma
Not only that but XFF only works with L7, the standard LB deployed via service type LB in Kubernetes is L4
mus1cfl0w··on Intuit to buy Credit Karma for $7B
Because it’s true, it’s a terrible piece of software. The account sync is unreliable, the automatic tagging of expenses is horribly off most of the time and on top of all they sell your data to creditors and other third parties. No, thank you. Look at Copilot if you want to do all of this but much better!
mus1cfl0w··on Developer salary spreadsheet compiled from tweets
Mind elaborating on this?
mus1cfl0w··on Ask HN: How to take your privacy back?
I can highly recommend the Privacy, Security & OSINT Show but it really depends on how far you want to go:

mus1cfl0w··on Encoding your WiFi access point password into a QR code
Shameless plug but I wrote https://github.com/elsesiy/qrgo which you don’t even need to install locally, check it out if you’re interested!
mus1cfl0w··on How I encrypt my data in the cloud
I do pretty much the same but moved away from Boxcryptor to Cryptomator as it's open source :)
mus1cfl0w··on Show HN: Fast and simple service to generate QR codes from your CLI
Yes exactly! The code is rendered from a UTF8 string. You can try it, i.e.: curl -L qrgo.elsesiy.com/leshokunin
mus1cfl0w··on Ask HN: Where do you go to trade your cryptocurrencies?
I think not being hacked is a major plus in the space of crypto currencies. Which exchange (with a solid API, US law compliant) would you suggest instead?
mus1cfl0w··on Ask HN: Where do you go to trade your cryptocurrencies?
Kraken is one of the safest choices IMHO. I automated my trading via a script:

mus1cfl0w··on Ask HN: Good resources for new immigrants on how to settle?
1. I figured that might me a good starting point, but may not be worthwhile in the long run in order to built up property right? 2. Can you recommend a specific credit union? What do I've to look out for? I'm currently in CA. 3. Okay 4. Alright 5. What do you mean by "look for healthcare"? A decent salary for a software engineer would be what? 90k? What site do you guys use for finding a job? Indeed, Glassdoor, etc. or anything special? 6. Check!
mus1cfl0w··on Ask HN: Good resources for new immigrants on how to settle?
That's a great deal! But apart of the phone story, how do I build up a credit score quickly? I do have a decent amount of cash savings and everything I own is paid off..
mus1cfl0w··on Ask HN: Good resources for new immigrants on how to settle?
Oh okay, thank you. I didn't think about that...During a semester abroad I used to have a plan from H2O wireless which was not as expensive though.

I'll definitely check out Meetup!

mus1cfl0w··on Ask HN: Do you use either C# or Java in your professional work?
No C# here but lots of Java (Backend, Android). (Cologne, Germany)
