mulligan··on David Chalmers considers the possibilities of VR
One important thing to understand is the "metaverse" these companies are trying to build for is both VR and AR. Not solely VR.
mulligan··on DoorDash removing 1-year cliff for equity grants

More people in the world than ever have access to clean potable water. More people in the world than ever have no access to clean potable water.
mulligan··on Learn to play chess online
There was some chess tutorial going around online that I failed to properly bookmark. The tutorial was premised on the fact that for casual fun games, you shouldn't have to memorize a bunch of strategic openings and instead adopt some of the older methods of playing before everyone memorized everything.

Does anyone remember this and have a link to it?

This part seem kind of troubling.

At Machine Zone, we've been using formal methods to specify and verify systems we have in development. This is something we've only been doing in the last 6-9 months though.
mulligan··on Are the benefits of moderate drinking a myth?
From the article:

argues for a simple theory: the net marginal impact of drinking on health is negative at all levels; and moderate drinking is a marker for relative youth, affluence, and healthy habits rather than a cause of good health

mulligan··on Gravitational Lensing to Observe Ancient Earth
This article from berkeley is super relevant, it was published just a few days ago: https://newscenter.berkeley.edu/2015/03/05/distant-supernova...

mulligan··on Come have a beer with Chute (YC12) in SF or NYC
I understand the goals of having a meetup like this, but having people meetup over "beer" is kind of exclusive and isn't a very inviting for a large chunk of people. Not to pick on Chute, since this is a common thing, but it is worth pointing out every now and again.
