motbus3··on AI outperforms law professors in Stanford Law study
As others pointed. It kind implies it surpasses professors, but reading more carefully it seems more like the mythos situation. There was a single professor or test that it surpasses.

Reading it makes me extremely suspicious on how cherry picked this was

motbus3··on AI Engineers aren't safe from being replaced by AI
How surprised people will be when they learn that their prompts and skills and etc are being saved for ai training even though they said it would not be
motbus3··on What if remote working, not AI, is to blame for weak junior hiring?
All companies I worked, big or small, local or remote. All of them stopped hirokg juniors long time ago. I have a guess that Juniors are much weaker today + AI + bad economy + (what I call) immediatism*

I don't agree with remote work arguments because I saw that before with remote companies and totally works

No company is investing for the next 10 years, not even 5 depending on the scale.

motbus3··on The dead economy theory
I agree with most of it, but I don't think these three turns are the end of it.

We see that as soon as companies can, they will drop support for end consumers like us and focus on B2B.

The only way to sustain some level of revenue is by turning into aggression levels which is ineffective, and obviously, imoral and unacceptable.

The way things are going we all be dead by hunger. This seems by design made up to seem unavoidable.

motbus3··on Claude Opus 4.8
4.7 was a mistake and 4.8 is a bug fix. There is no improvement. 4.7 is unusable
motbus3··on I think Anthropic and OpenAI have found product-market fit
this is an opinion and i would love to debate :) dont hate me too hard

i think the article is momentaneously correct but there are some things that smells to me about the situation overall (not the article!)

(1) i believe gpt 5.5 and opus 4.7 are not as good improvements as their predecessors and there has been not enough evolution in those models to justify the price increases. Unless something big changes in the next few years they will not be able to track these costs (unless A)

(2) they might not be able to keep up improving the data centers if their tech keeps demanding more and more hardware capability. even nvidia does not show signals that they will be able to beat too much their big GPUs and at some point this increased price will be passed to them anyway which will need to be put in the token price (unless A)

(3) i've been trying deepseek v4 and other models and honestly, they are more useful than gpt 5.5 and opus 4.7... i mean, there is still a difference, but it is so little that it does not make sense the cost of opus and gpt 5.5 (unless they are going to A too)

(A) I have the impression is that the plan was the whole time to sideline common folks like us and focus on gov, big techs and military. they only let us play with the toys to gather data and for people to not get mad because they stole the internet from us.

motbus3··on Green card seekers must leave U.S. to apply, Trump administration says
Would also this means that all sorts of interference with other countries is also bad and should not happen? I can think of a couple of countries right now with a massive problem of illegal immigrants on ships but they use uniforms
motbus3··on Green card seekers must leave U.S. to apply, Trump administration says
And how can you attribute that to immigration and not something else?

Many things culturally comes and goes in waves. How can you tell them apart?

For anyone wanting to loose the time on this discussion ok. But this account is weird AF. Look all the interactions and comments this user appears. Probably the bots or the comment army got to hacker news.

A way to silence people is to cause commotion so people get dizzy by the noise.

There is no menace. There was no evil plan. There was nothing like that. Accusing others of what you want to do is a classical trick.

motbus3··on Green card seekers must leave U.S. to apply, Trump administration says
This account you are all arguing against is a totally political account here. Check the profile

> It's the moral right of people in a democracy to control the flow of people to limit cultural change.

Tell me what is changing about American culture. I am curious to know.

motbus3··on Green card seekers must leave U.S. to apply, Trump administration says
I wonder why all of this
motbus3··on Trump Mobile exposed customers' personal data
He was once president or something of a Country Club where he only let the rich to go. It was kinda lame cause he kept bullying some foreigner workers for no reason. He was in charge until people noted he was even more senile than the previous club owner
motbus3··on Trump Mobile exposed customers' personal data
My grandpa is almost 80 years old. He blatantly complains about stuff he doesn't understand but because he was once a big shot he think he does. He takes decisions almost as random as a 20 side dice but the numbers are just options and have no correlation among each other. Eventually he does something that seems to make sense, but if you live enough time with him you'll see that's by chance.
motbus3··on AI is just unauthorised plagiarism at a bigger scale
The owner of my company is not litigious guy. He already seek block copied content other times but he won't dive into a battle with people much richer than him.
motbus3··on AI is just unauthorised plagiarism at a bigger scale
They copy books illegally by scanning the pages and try to hide the whole thing under 3rd party companies. They care 0 about the law. I suspect I know why now.
motbus3··on AI is just unauthorised plagiarism at a bigger scale
They fake user agent, they throttle or go slow and even try to emulate mouse movements. I am not kidding that they had the audacity of doing 270k pages in a single day and they returned multiple days.
motbus3··on AI is just unauthorised plagiarism at a bigger scale
About a year ago OpenAI crawled and go DDOS level the company I work. Even despite the robots.txt not allowing it, and despite some recaptcha we could assemble in time.

We found our data in the outputs of their models but who can do anything about it...

motbus3··on AI is just unauthorised plagiarism at a bigger scale
It allows data do be compressed into the weights and the mere coincidence of certain strings of a book will make it spit the full book

motbus3··on College students drown out AI-praising commencement speeches with boos
i think we should not think they are gullible but they want to make they think they are. they want a message through and the message is that they are creating a threat and they will use it.
motbus3··on Google changes its search box
Nothing like the final blow to takeover the businesses they stole all the content from.
motbus3··on I’ve joined Anthropic
I really like the guy, but he has terrible friends.

That reminds me about Don Quijote

"Dime con quién andas, y decirte he quién eres."

motbus3··on Frontier AI has broken the open CTF format
I think soon there will be ways to trick this models and I think when it happens it will be yet another layer like aslr

These models seems completely unbeatable only in the ads. There are 100+ times way someone puts Hindi Yoda talk In Morse Code and it goes nuts. The reason they are going to hard for PR Marketing on this is because they know it is a matter of time.

motbus3··on U.S. DOJ demands Apple and Google unmask over 100k users of car-tinkering app
Not exactly. You are supposed to be emitting certain pollution rates, certain speed limits, keep your car in order. All the rest is the brand convincing you that you need to pay them more for things you already paid, like heated seats. Don't tell me you believe you could've paid less because the heat was off
motbus3··on U.S. DOJ demands Apple and Google unmask over 100k users of car-tinkering app

They basically force yourself to register to their service go allow your emails to be possibly analyzed. It takes dozens or hundreds of emails to warm up a single self hosted email account
