mosdl··on SAP stops most travel and hiring because of AI's soaring cost
SAP also made some big acquisitions that cost a lot of cash..
mosdl··on Zed 1.0
A bit confused - Idea supports pythong and ts/js, why the need for three?
mosdl··on Walmart: ChatGPT checkout converted 3x worse than website
Sorry that is revisionist. The idea of getting a movie mailed or streamed always sounded better than shitty blockbuster with limited selection and late fees.

The growth was fast for netflix/amazon/paypal/etc and people saw how it was an improvement from the get go.

mosdl··on JavaScript-heavy approaches are not compatible with long-term performance goals
Plus Redux is horrible for performance, slows things down and overcomplicates everything.
mosdl··on Tesla ending Models S and X production
Their autonomous taxi program is a joke right now, especially compared to Waymo. Way fewer cities/rides, and they haven't even deployed their cybertaxi thing.
mosdl··on Why are my food delivery apps AI generating photos of food?
Can a restaurant sue if the ai generated version is unappetizing?
mosdl··on Tesla shareholders approve Musk's $1T pay plan with 75%+ voting in favor
They have to keep him since his hype train is what keeps the stock price high. Probably not going to end well for any long term holders of the stock.
mosdl··on I almost got hacked by a 'job interview'
If that works that would be...amazingly awesome/horrible.
mosdl··on Augment Code: 22.5% of our users are consuming 20x what they're currently paying
There is no such thing as a free lunch!
mosdl··on Who needs Git when you have 1M context windows?
Jetbrain's local history has saved my bacon several times. Its a good use of all that unused disc space.
mosdl··on Offline card payments should be possible no later than 1 July 2026
You don't need a blockchain for that, see how old credit cards worked without network access.
mosdl··on U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
The guy who Trump put in power of HUD is a fun research - meme stocks, giving away money on twitter to get a following, etc.
mosdl··on Show HN: Canteen – Enabling Claude/Cursor to hire world class tech talent
Where are your customer comments now, lols.
mosdl··on Show HN: Canteen – Hire Engineers 10× Faster, at Half the Cost
So your ai agent will send outreach emails to potential candidates it chooses, which is not really any different than using any of the automated recruiting tools already out there. I don't see what is the difference here - using LLMs to solve something that is already pretty much automates (outreach).
mosdl··on Show HN: Canteen – Hire Engineers 10× Faster, at Half the Cost
I love all the bot comments and upvotes, always a good sign!

I fail to see how this will make hiring faster/better - we already get so much recruiting spam, why would this be any different?

mosdl··on Tesla Faces US Auto Safety Investigation over Door Handles
I hope everyone bans them, too many are copying them and its a major turnoff.
mosdl··on Zoox robotaxi launches in Las Vegas
They seem idle as last mile transport - taking people to the offices after using the Caltrain for example.
mosdl··on Taco Bell rethinks AI drive-through after man orders 18,000 waters
If its in the name it must be true!
mosdl··on Ask HN: How do you find early stage startups to join
Young startups often use third party recruiters. Whenever I am looking for a job, I go through my email archives looking for their cold emails and reach out to them.
mosdl··on Ask HN: Is React Dead?
React is a stable platform, not much to talk about other than big breaking changes. Its just not exciting but a hell of a lot of people us it.
mosdl··on [dead]
AI is just aliens in a call center floating near Jupiter!
mosdl··on Show HN: I spent 6 years building a ridiculous wooden pixel display
Really cool and it would totally work for a restaurant/coffee shop.
mosdl··on Rate, Price Drops Won't Substantially Improve Affordability
You also need to include property taxes.
mosdl··on SV AI Startups Are Embracing China's Controversial '996' Work Schedule
I interviewed at one AI startup that basically was doing this. From what I could tell, they were feeling pressured to get something out fast since there is so much money and competition.

What was odd was that they were already doing this for about 6 months and needed people who could build things, the founder was very frustrated. Technically it looked like there were severely over complicating their code base (I never saw it, this was just based on discussions) and needed people to fix their perf issues/etc, which AI is very bad at.

mosdl··on Anthropic tightens usage limits for Claude Code without telling users
I've used Augment before moving to Claude, they are pretty similar, often can't tell the difference. I don't think there is that much difference in the dev focused llms.
mosdl··on Running TypeScript Natively in Node.js
Its just stripping types, so new constructs should not matter - there is no parsing.
mosdl··on Two guys hated using Comcast, so they built their own fiber ISP
In my condo complex the cost for Sail is the same as the lowest Comcast internet plan. Possibly Sail and others have forced Comcast to go down finally, which is great.

Also the Sail support is really good, fast responses (even the CEO sometimes answers tickets).

mosdl··on I Solved the Century-Old Mystery of a Miraculous Shipwreck Survivor
Its amazing how much and how little things have changed when it comes to media. Good reminder to always be skeptical about sensationalism.
mosdl··on Two guys hated using Comcast, so they built their own fiber ISP
Downtown SJ has sail internet as well, great local isp!
mosdl··on The North Korean fake IT worker problem is ubiquitous
I forgot e-verify is separate, seems like a better thing to mandate
