The forum folks may be able to provide a solution.
The next UHK firmware and Agent release will enable you to tweak module speed and acceleration settings, which should make your trackpoint module significantly more useful.
We haven't received bad feedback about the build quality of the modules, so I'm wondering what makes you so dissatisfied.
Laszlo Monda - founder and lead of the UHK
Issue 1 has been fixed quite a while ago. We provide spare rubber feet if you need some. I'm unsure if we faced with issue 2 because your description doesn't contain many details about this one. As for issue 3, this is quite a rare one, and we'll provide a new UHK version featuring USB-C and tons of improvements.
PS: I'm the founder of the UHK. I may forget about this thread, but feel free to reach us via https://UltimateHackingKeyboard.com/
You hardly ever used the UHK, yet you keep suggesting that we should use external firmware projects. We use ours because it offers certain benefits specific to our design. Even if you used the UHK, there's a good chance you'd ignore what it can offer because you're so biased toward columnar layout and other open source firmware projects.
I appreciate the value of columnar layouts, but the rest is bias towards your own preferences.
None of the open source firmwares support the modular architecture of the UHK or allow for the easy update of the configuration without using full-blown compilers so they are not suitable for us.
We'll release further UHKs of additional layouts, columnar included.
JWZs review is completely unjust as he hates 60% keyboards. Read my comment in his post.
I doubt that it'd be possible to offer a wireless UHK under $300 if we insisted to our current features and quality standards. The market is limited, it's a huge R&D effort for a small company, and a large company couldn't care less for a niche product like this.
We plan to design further UHKs of different form factors. I don't get however why you don't consider the current model compact.
