mokkol··on Reaching $10k monthly revenue with WakaTime, my SaaS side project
Installed the plugin after I saw the Indie Hacker interview. Really like the product so far! It integrates very smoothly and I like the fact that you don't have to login to use the product. Recommended!

mokkol··on Running Costs of a SaaS app
A bit harsh. I guess they are very profitable and those tools probably save them money and time.

Is Alfred really killed? I am still a heavy user, many improvements compare to Spotlight for me.

Thanks! Interesting talk!
mokkol··on The Rails Doctrine
Instead of cool & new, think about Rails is stable and mature :)

And yes I think you should consider to use Rails. In my opinion it is one of the best back-end frameworks out there.

mokkol··on You Can’t Trust What You Read About Nutrition
This book really made it much clearer for me: http://www.amazon.com/The-Enzyme-Factor-Hiromi-Shinya/dp/098...

Advise of a doctor called Hiromi Shinya, who studied/observed intestines all his live. He is one of the best in his field and the explanations he gives in his book are really really logic and inspirational. I highly recommend it, it changed my perspective of food. Counting calories never done it for me. Not all calories are not the same.

Hiromi Shinya also made it clear that we only think about our outside and not about. The inside and the inside is all what counts to stay healthy and live a long live. You can be thin and extremely unhealthy. It is the inside what counts and we shouldn't exhaust our organs.

mokkol··on Three Years as a One-Man Startup
I love it to read honest reviews of products I use and love!

mokkol··on The Secret Ingredient in Orange Juice
Hearing my own thoughts when I'm reading your comment. Cheers for writing it down in clear english!
mokkol··on Ask HN: How do you handle customer support on your site?
I run www.nusii.com and we are still quite small and we handle Customer feedback ourselves. Se use it to get to know our customers. We have some saved replies we use over and over again, and we link to tutorials where we can. I think we take 30/45 minutes a day to do customer feedback.

I must say, great customer service helps churn a lot. Helping them out actually makes them a happier customer and it is a great moment to start a good relation. See it as a opportunity and don't outsource it too soon!

mokkol··on The Secret Ingredient in Orange Juice
I highly recommend to watch the documentary 'That Sugar Film'. It explains this in perfect detail and more aspects of sugar intake and the sugar industry.
mokkol··on The Secret Ingredient in Orange Juice
I hate this mentality. Why does it have to be proved to be sure it is unhealthy? It should be the other way around. It has to be proved to be healthy for you to eat it.

Back in the day, smoking wasn't proved that it was unhealthy while it was common sense that it was.

mokkol··on SaaS Pricing: Our Big Free Plan Mistake
I think almost all the companies have a X days money back guaranty
mokkol··on SaaS Pricing: Our Big Free Plan Mistake
I totally understand your pain but I don't agree. We got rid of the CC on our signup (www.nusii.com). We got many more users because of that (3 to 4 times more) but we've seen that the conversion rate (trial to paid) was WAY lower. 4% instead of 40%. We don't exactly know why this is, but I think it is because the CC makes you want to try the product much more. You end up with a happier user.

Our biggest mistake was getting rid of the CC on the signup. I could write a very similar blog post. Free trial period with a 60 days money back guaranty works the best for us and our users.
