moblivu··on Judge calls music biz request for $75 trillion in Limewire damages 'absurd'
Either the LimeWire guys are laughing or freaking out, either way that is just plain ridiculous!
moblivu··on Japan Does Not Face Another Chernobyl
Well with what their living knowing that a nuclear reactor won't blow up is still good news. I really hope it doesn't get worst...
moblivu··on Happy Hackers Love Whiteboard Wallpaper
Love the concept, another whiteboard solution like ideaPaint where you just paint your whiteboard on any surface! http://www.ideapaint.com/
moblivu··on Japan Does Not Face Another Chernobyl
With everything the Japanese are passing through at least they have some good news! I hope there will be a good ending to this !
moblivu··on False Alarm: Google Circles Not Coming Now, And Probably Not Ever
There will always be competition (Friendster, QQ, VKontakte, MySpace, Live Spaces, Path, and many others), and there will always be innovation. Facebook has no competition right now and it's still innovating!
moblivu··on False Alarm: Google Circles Not Coming Now, And Probably Not Ever
Why the downrank? Facebook is the biggest Social Network in the world, the second most visited website. Google (search engine) is the biggest web search engine in the world, the most visited website.

Even if Facebook launched the best search engine, we are used to Google and it just works, look at Bing even if the engine is somewhat more defined and powerful, we still search on Google because there's that little something we like. It's the same thing right now with Google and their (maybe unannounced) social networking plan.

Imagine a social integrated search (kinda like Greplin) where your search results maybe be influenced by who you are and what you might try to find. Where we're not posting YouTube videos across the social network but it is integrated to it in a blended experience where you can even watch videos with your friends live. Imagine Google Docs connected directly to your Facebook contacts, your calendar synchronized to your events - a unified experience.

Yes at some point it might sound silly, but think about the possibilities, the face isn't the reality, beneath it is.

moblivu··on False Alarm: Google Circles Not Coming Now, And Probably Not Ever
Honestly, I'd rather see Google and Facebook joining forces than trying to make competition! If those two work together, imagine how to web could be!
moblivu··on An HTML5 game in the Mac App Store
Slowly but surely, web programming is getting as powerful as normal programming. Java runs everywhere inside a virtual machine, web runs everywhere inside a web browser!
moblivu··on If you're applying this cycle: How to Apply to Y Combinator
Thanks for the reference, like "How to start a startup" it's always good to have more information!

If one of the founders is under aged, is there any kind of additional step to take?

moblivu··on The iPad 2
What's more ridiculous is that they changed everything that doesn't matter. Nobody complained about the thickness, the speed or the covers. What we really wanted is an optimized-for-tablet OS experience. You know not having to quit our app, find settings, go to general to finally activate Bluetooth, or having to struggle without tabs on the web browser. The worst part is people wont even see that, they're all brainwash to Big Brother apple.

‎"The cameras are severely lacking, the screen -- while extremely high quality -- is touting last year's spec, and its operating system still has significant annoyances, like the aggravating pop-up notifications" -iPad 2 Review (Engadget)

moblivu··on YSlow for Chrome
A great tool for Chrome!
moblivu··on Move Over Apple, My Tablet Cost $200
"Why should I have to invalidate the warranty in order to make their product more attractive?"

Exactly, why don't the companies hear us. Why do Samsung and Moto keep putting their Android skin if we hate it. Why don't Apple listen to us when we ask for a better web browser with tabs and Flash and a good notification system. Why do a bunch of hackers can hack t and make it better and the giant corp can't.......... ridiculous !

moblivu··on Life at a startup
Another important thing isn't the complexity of the project, but the impact it has. Sometimes people tend to build on the big side when the best thing they can do is the simplest, just look at Facebook or Google.
moblivu··on Show HN: Hacker News in real-time
It would be great if every website have an open analytics section where you can see a live stream of activity across the website, a map with real time user activity... i don't know it would be cool.
moblivu··on The blind man who taught himself to see
Then it is a field that we must take advantage of. We are barely using the full capacity of our senses; we're too lazy with our eyes. It's something we should consider in the future, try to develop the human senses.... I'm sure there's a little budget for that in the 3 trillion they spend on military ventures!
moblivu··on Get your own #dickbar
Am I the only who's not getting the purpose of this "Dickbar" ?
moblivu··on Why Silicon Valley Immigrant Entrepreneurs Are Returning Home
The problem is how difficult it is to start a startup somewhere else. Only the US has the investor power and mentality about it. Try finding an investor here in Canada or even a VC or Angel that knows the potential of the web..... of course there are, but the USA, especially Silicon Valley, is THE place to be!
moblivu··on All 1,926 public school teachers in Providence fired
This should be the canvas of the future education system: http://www.ted.com/talks/ken_robinson_says_schools_kill_crea...
moblivu··on Facebook bans Adsense in all applications, driving Google out of Facebook.com
It's simple all the money passes through Google; they don't have any control. Now they want to see or even collect some of that money; they want control.

Result, an army of angry developers, Google loses a lot of clients, a war has begun between two of the biggest web companies.

moblivu··on Hardest captcha ever?
Hardest Captcha for a human: Maybe Hardest Captcha for a machine: Not so sure !

You can just pass the equation in Wolfram Alpha directly and you have your answer! The font is crystal clear and the equation is quite simple.

moblivu··on Google demos driverless cars
Yeah, you blend your maps data with a bunch of sensors together and you have a self driving car. It's just a matter of speed and the other drivers + knowing where your going.
moblivu··on Google demos driverless cars
The craziest ideas are the best ;) and what's crazier: a car on rails or a self driving Prius from a search and advertising company ?
moblivu··on Google demos driverless cars
If applied correctly this could solved a lot of traffic problem. I still don't understand why cars don't have a retractable bar under them. So you normally drive everywhere, but big roads like highways are in fact rails where your car gets on.
moblivu··on Decision Time... iPad 2 or Xoom/Android?
It is available on the Galaxy Tab and the demos of Flash on the XOOM are already up. Furthermore, even if we remove the Flash player, the browser is still far superior as is the rest of the OS.
moblivu··on The blind man who taught himself to see
Well when you grow up without any vision, your other senses develops at a much faster rate, especially the hearing. Because we grew up with vision, we know what it is to see and our ears will never have the capability to develop the same way.
moblivu··on The blind man who taught himself to see
Indeed! Unfortunatly we will never be able to practice Echolocation. Imagine if we are able to give him back vision.... What will he be able to do from there !
moblivu··on The blind man who taught himself to see
Pretty amazing. It is quite difficult to understand echolocation since we are able to see, but it is also difficult for him to understand vision since he can't. I think that vision is the lazyiest sense we have, it's too easy and the body have a great potencial to use our senses to the max; we're just not using it.
moblivu··on Pixel Perfect map of china
I wonder if the whole city is a vector....
moblivu··on Decision Time... iPad 2 or Xoom/Android?
I would say Android. Apple really disapointed me with the latest iPad 2. There's nothing new and innovative here.

Honeycomb has a superb notification system compared to iOS' stupid full screen block. You have a real tablet optimised desktop with widgets and multiple homescreens, a true useful web browsing with Flash and tabs, real multitasking and everything is optimised for a tablet to be productive but simple.

You really feel you have power and control of what you are doing and can do, you should take a look at some Honeycombs video.

moblivu··on Google finally has a 404 page that isn't ugly
Haha, a nice simple error page! Still, nothing beats that one http://www.abovetopsecret.com/404.html
