I would be more excited if it was open source.

The two books I've read by Stephenson and really enjoyed. Never really got into the Baroque cycle because it's so long winded, but that should also be good.

Just add ".idea/*" to .gitignore in your main directory.

I built my SaaS app backend on sails. There are quite some gotchas left but overall I'm pretty happy with it.

Deep relational fetches would be very very helpfull though, now you basically have to cobble up seperate async fetches to do more complex joins.

In europe this is still very common.

Hi Charlie,

I enjoyed the book a lot, and I was only a bit irked by the slightly-off Bitcoin references and the countersigning etc.

I have a few pages written on the same idea of many disparate colonies but with the twist that quantum entanglement allows for limited FTL communications, which makes an interstellar blockchain feasible.

I'm looking forward to your next book.

Funny enough baas means boss in Dutch.

This is just a satoshi dice clone with a game of thrones theme right? Or am I missing something?

Is this supposed to be a premature optimization joke?

Did you try version 0.9.x? 0.10.x has been a lot better, the docs have also gotten a complete revamp. I'm building my SAAS product in it and haven't found any dealbreakers. Still quite some gotcha's, I'll give you that.

I have the Chronicles of amber on my reading list. Glad to be able to recommend Lord of Light, you won't regret it.

Lord of Light by Zelazny. It's on another level really and I love the Buddhist, Hindu influence combined with the technology.

If I were in your situation I'd live on the cheap in indonesia and scrape by with online freelancing until your US visa is approved. It is easy enough to make a few hundred dollars to live on even without much experience.

Maybe you should stick to a somewhat touristy area like Bali where people speak english, the cost of living is still very affordable there.

Most (continental) European countries have a similar system.

Isn't SES strictly for transactional emails?

Yaah this was happening to me as well, I just waited and now it works again.

Dutchie here, can confirm just as shitty if not even more.

I don't know about AWS for this use case, if you use it more than 50% of the time I'm sure costs will be much much higher.

When I took a taxi in barcelona the taxi driver held my luggage hostage and insisted on a flat fee instead of the meter when we arrived at the destination. I had no working mobile phone so there was not much I could do but pay him.

An anecdote but I doubt it's the only time that happened.

They got rid of the 'reddit.com' subreddit that used to serve that purpose. (It was from the time before subreddits existed.)

The study was probably done at the governments official exchange rate which is far off from the black market rate. Which would make it seem more expensive.

I think adding creative skills and skills of physical mastery both make for more worthy pursuits. This would cover your jazz piano and unicycling and would exclude the Dota example. It also excludes reading fiction, which I think is not much different from watching a movie or playing a game.

Your concept of improvement making things worthy is interesting, but very subjective. What is the difference between getting better at photography and getting better at playing Dota (or chess for that matter). These kind of discussions evolve into meaning of life debates really fast.

Most of the narrative consists of direct quotes from the top two Quora answers.

maybe change the link to the quora thread?

The article adds literally nothing.

Consider a kickstarter, I'd love to buy one.

I will spend many hours on that site, thanks.

The other side of the market reportedly works much more efficient. Tons of middlemen sourcing the latest 0days and paying more the higher to the top of the pyramid they get.

Of course there is a relevant XKCD: http://xkcd.com/1138/

I really don't know what you're on about to be honest.
