Is this true? I thought eyes are drawn to top left?
Salary on the other hand is just cash being transferred to my bank account. I never physically see it, no one hands it to me. It's just a number in my bank account that I don't check often.
I bet I'd be happier if my boss handed me a cheque every two weeks instead of doing bank transfer. It's an emotional "I have to see it to feel it" thing.
This was part of the Longhorn project, which as we all know got scrapped, to produce what is now Vista! :-)
It's a question of what you will achieve after going through the pain of starting a company vs. the pain of being an employee of a traditional software company.
My advice is to focus on a niche market filled with people w/ money, willing to pay for stuff. And avoid any market/problem that your typical computer geek would be interested in or aware of (you want to relax on the beach, not code away 60hrs a week fearing some other startup will catch up and take the market away).
