Do you plan on adding filterable tags to the ui? Rather than just metadata.
mirshko··on Event: Berlin Swapfest #3, electronics flea market Sep 28th
This is a special one, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the MIT Swapfest and the 30th anniversary of c-base's discovery.

September 28th 2025 12:00 to 17:00 at c-base

Update: https://bsky.app/profile/swapfest.berlin

We’ll be using this microsite for now for updates, but will likely spin up a bluesky account for the swapfest!

It’s mainly to figure out how many people are coming!

We have limited space at c-base and I want to be respectful of their fire code!

That’s where I got the idea! I was blown away at how cool that event was, I emailed with their team to get some tips for it as well.

The coolest part was someone brought a Gemini lander to sell!

Thanks!

Yeah c-base crew was incredibly adamant about that, they used to have people leaving stuff there or bringing them electronics, they’ve got closets of switches.

As you said the deposit will handle it, worst case if someone brings a 19” rack that will be used to bring it to the tip

That was our designers idea! Will pass on the nice words. Also will try to have someone taking photos to document it.

Our event person at c-base ligi also suggested to idea of having a small show and tell time permitting for really cool items that have a story to them.

I’m an English native with A2 German at best and have no troubles there!

A majority of events are in English there, one tonight was all in English as well.

mirshko··on So you want to build your own data center
y’all really need to open source that racking modeling tool, that would save sooooo many people so much time
mirshko··on Migrating from DokuWiki to Obsidian
Seems text color is driven by light / dark mode at the OS level, but the background color is not.
mirshko··on Prevent Missing Data in LaunchDarkly with Vercel Rewrites
Set this up internally at my job, works great. Since LaunchDarkly didn't have any docs for this I thought I'd write a little post about it to hopefully help some other people!
mirshko··on Let yourself be monitored: EU governments to agree on Chat Control
I've heard arguments in favour of this level of surveillance going a bit like;

"I have nothing to hide and I think this is a serious problem, so I'm okay with the EU scanning my messages if it helps fight CSAM"

And if you argue against in case of wanting privacy the counter-argument ends up being; "Do you think CSAM isn't a problem or you're on the side of the pedos?"

Don't see how to argue with a person who simply doesn't care about the right to privacy or these regulations being the first step to mass surveillance. I.e. like someone wrote "Four Horsemen of the Infocalypse"

mirshko··on Privacy focused platform Skiff is joining Notion, Skiff to be sunset

I’m really upset about this, I was about to go all in on Skiff after being burnt by ProtonMail.

Glad I didn’t. Feel really bad for those who did.

mirshko··on Show HN: DatoCMS – An alternative to Contentful for static websites
Netlify-cms seems alright, deff pretty rough around the edges though. It could use some polish and some more features 100%
