AFAIK, .Net doesn't support "green threads" and they repeatedly confirmed that there are no future plans to do so. Additionally, M:N threading model has serious interop issues as evident in Go, which is a no-go for system languages. Personally, I don't see a need for green threads since kernel threads are fast enough and don't use that much RAM as people tend to believe. And when they are not, sure, go async/await.
Are you saying that 10% revenue increase has led to 10x earnings beat? That doesn't make any sense.
> There’s no actual skill called business. Avoid business schools and magazines.
Proceeds giving a bunch of generic business and life lessons.
> We would essentially be retired, in the sense that none of us would have to work for any of the basics. We’d even have robotic nurses. We’d have machine driven hospitals. We’d have self-driving cars. We’d have farms that are 100% automated. We’d have clean energy.
Do we really need to run a thought experiment? Haven't some of it already happened to see the results? Doesn't look that rosy as this guy is describing.
I don't understand why you bothered arguing with them instead, I dunno, creating a new fake account?
I did the same thing in my 20's, now, with family and kids, a large change like that would be much harder to pull off.

> Maria Konnikova was just your ordinary psychologist and New Yorker writer when she began turning up at PokerStars events about 12 months ago.
Yep, anyone can do it, lol
I was curious about your conclusion since the article doesn't mention anything, but a quick search returned this piece

Is it that easy to turn BTC to cash? I heard most exchanges have no way to withdraw real dollars.
What makes you think it is doing so well?
Whether it makes sense to you or not market price manipulation absolutely does work as shown by hundreds of lawsuits filed by SEC every year.
>The order book has a lot of orders in it. This appears to me to be one of the stupidest things anyone could ever try to do. It would move the market, but it's not clear that there's any reason to believe that it would be anything but massively unprofitable.
Given enough cash/coins you can easily manipulate order book (see "wash sales"). Even easier if you are running an unregulated exchange, duh!
The goal of bidding price up is to attract buyers and establish an upward trend, which later you can sell into at a higher price. Works even better when it causes a "short squeeze".
Works in other direction too, obviously. All this is rather pretty basic and also highly illegal in _regulated_ markets.
No, once put in motion, a pyramid scheme doesn't require a central actor.

OK, I'll check with you next time before commenting here.
I could not find any stats on the amount of fiat flowing in and out of these "exchanges", which, by the way, have zero oversight and tend to disappear every few months or so.

> As one trader puts it Short 1 btc. Buy 1 btc. Get 1 bcc free :).
Since BCC doesn't have enough hash power to mine blocks trading/withdrawal would not work anyway.
Related question, is there a way to see inflow/outflow of dollars or any other real-world currency from/to these exchanges?
