I'm CEO of Fleet, open-source platform for security and IT teams with lots of endpoints (https://fleetdm.com/handbook/company). I'm also the creator and BDFL of Sails, open-source MVC framework for Node.js (https://sailsjs.com/about).

The formula osquery uses to report performance: https://github.com/fleetdm/fleet/issues/16123
Next step is "clairvoyance", where we predict perf based on the SQL when you're in the query editor
(it's got an extra layer of metadata with examples. Supports markdown in the yaml for most fields. Contributions welcome!!)

There’s also a podcast episode on it with two of the creators: "The story behind the creation of osquery" https://fleetdm.com/podcasts/the-future-of-device-management...
One of my fav things about this is that we're solving the "Linux MDM problem". As a person who likes to use Linux, it's exciting that, no matter how big the company gets, I can still use whatever OS I want at work (and still be "offboard-able", with everyone passing their audits.)
Source code for Fleet is available at https://github.com/fleetdm/fleet.
""" When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping." To this day, especially in times of "disaster", I remember my mother's words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers—so many caring people in this world. —Fred Rogers """
In all seriousness: I maintain it every day with a team of 4 other core team members with the help of an incredible community of contributors.
