I've seen streamfocus pushed through this site several times already... maybe find a different place to 'market' the product? I don't think we're your target and it starting to read back a little like spam. Congrats on the 50% though...

it's his nickname, thats what his boys call him... you know like pdiddy.

he's jpaul...

I read through the techcrunch comments and there were some valid points made... one that stuck out to me was one where a guy said he'd sign up for something but wouldnt buy anything.

I share that same feeling... I'd sign up for something but I wouldn't buy anything through it.

I agree with you, I think the only way that they might be able to get someone to buy through a banner would be if there was some direct tie to the to the page. The page content would have to say something like "you can buy the item we reviewed through this banner, the vendor is reliable".

I think it's still a bit of a stretch...

It's probably because he's a good writer and the concepts for the posts themselves were developed long before he started the blog that became the new black.

settle down there fast guy... i wouldnt exactly call the facebook platform the nail in the coffin for VCs.

this is also not desperation... they're testing the water, trying something new on the cheap. i think its a smart move.

I actually think I'd enjoy watching the lifecast of an anonymous criminal... not sure how they'd get around someone finding them but if they did I'd be there. It might be possible when they get the camera size down but not right now.

some people really dont care and i would want to watch that guy hah!

I've never applied but I'll go ahead and suggest you find a new name for whatever it is you're building...

This actually made me say "damn thats cool!"... nice call by the justin.tv team.

What's the cost of an apartment in that area? He's paying 500 to share a studio apt, at a 50/50 the cost is 1k for a studio? That's pretty expensive...

I'm curious about this thing now. thanks

How many applications do you think they receive on average?

I did not expect to be impressed but wow... that thing looks amazing. Nicely done apple. This will easily add another bill$ to their business.

I don't think it's possible to find "balance" but it is a good idea to take a little time away... or else you end up with tunnel vision.

'What is the most recent movie Halle Berry started in?'

Try asking what movie she starred in... it might work a little better.

Limit the number of new stories you can submit per day... the other stories you would have submitted will likely get posted by someone else if they're really worth the time.

I agree with this... you'd be accomplishing the same thing as a generic todo list with a reminder.

Personally, the only way I could see you spinning this into something "worth it" would be the ability to swap unwanted giftcards with friends...

good luck.

I was looking for this exact thing for a small app I'm writing... i figured it was already out there. funny.

You all are focusing on "Facebook" and missing the point.

Which is exactly why he wrote this article...

All good and great but find a better pic of Giuliani. I quit after i saw that...

Congrats to all yall as we say in the south!

I have been thinking about this and wonder what startups do about the issue of copyrights... if you have an idea for an application that could potentially be used for copyright infringement would you still create it? How would you decide this?

That first line is classic!! Ha!

I have found that finding "available" domain names is close to impossible these days... some people get really creative with it though.

Has anyone started looking at european extensions like .es, .pl, .lv etc... ? Domains like imin.lv ha!

How would a foreign extension affect user search results? Would you show up in a US search if you're under .es?

I'll come out and say it because everyone else is being polite... you were thrown out for being a smartass and you are riding the conflict between the two companies for publicity. It's cheap... effective but cheap. No offense to you dude but that's accurate.

This has nothing to do with the product. They showed up with a plan to stir the pot... if it was for press then it looks like it might be working for them. Nicely done in that respect but don't pretend this was a huge coincidence.

Ebay made the right call, I'd throw them out also if they pulled that nonsense...

I will second CentOS... it's solid.
