mavhc··on The Retreat to Muskworld
Not 25%, but yes, 11.34 vs 12.5, so 9% smaller

There are water/environment issues?

mavhc··on The Retreat to Muskworld
Faster than an F150-Lightning

Tighter turning than everyone

Faster charging than Rivian or F150, 94 miles gained in 15 mins vs 83 and 68

Best API obviously

Best suspension

Best ADAS

Lighter than both

Longer bed, larger cargo volume, higher payload and towing capacity than either

Cybertruck is outselling every EV sold by Ford, seems fine

There's a simple rule, if Musk founded the company and it does well then it doesn't matter that he founded the company. (SpaceX)

However if Musk didn't found the company and it does well, then that's a very important thing. (Tesla)

The Twitter that's barely used by anyone and thus isn't important?

Surely they should be using facebook, that's already proven to be great at helping with genocides

mavhc··on Tesla Robotaxi
Doesn't distributed computing generally cope with nodes going offline?

The point is it's just a way to use free compute that's sitting around, if you want to sign up to use it you'd obviously make sure it was in wifi range

mavhc··on Tesla Robotaxi
They should have put a massive trunk in the back to carry goods, and more than 1 seat, and not banned old people from taking trips, those bastards

And if you wanted to use inductive charging why didn't you acquire a company that does that a few years ago, you can't just announce things with no experience in the area, that would be madness

mavhc··on Tesla Robotaxi
Tesla has sold about 6.5 million cars at least.

BYD sold 131k in 2020, 321k in 2021, 911k in 2022, 1.6million in 2023, and in 2024 q1: 300k q2: 444k q3: 443k, total: 4.15 million

What if everything you know is a lie, what if we never went to the moon, what if all our leaders are lizard people?
mavhc··on Tesla Robotaxi
Just like the cybertruck, this is a concept car that will never be sold in real life
mavhc··on Tesla Robotaxi
Pity they didn't also announce a self driving bus

Because getting GWs of power into one building and the cooling it is expensive. Why not let other people buy the computer, provide the power, and it won't need expensive cooling.

Question is: are there enough high latency distributed workloads to sell?

mavhc··on Tesla Robotaxi
Oh yeah, look at all the terrible things Tesla has done, sell more EVs than everyone else, and make them for less cost, and include a good infotainment system in a car, what a terrible reality

Alcohol is just as bad for you as smoking according to the data, the only safe amount is 0. Why it's not packaged with giant warning labels is another question entirely

Why not both? Touchscreen to select focus position, view images. A touchscreen doesn't mean you have to remove buttons.
mavhc··on UK to finish with coal power after 142 years
It's approx 50%, and it's more than any other.

1991 Coal 62% Gas 1.72% 2023 Coal 1.28% Gas 31.71%

So Coal dropped 60.72, Gas rose 30, oh no, it's slightly less than 50%, my point is invalid

mavhc··on UK to finish with coal power after 142 years
That graph shows gas is the most used fuel in the UK for all years since coal was the most
mavhc··on UK to finish with coal power after 142 years
Mostly replaced with gas, which is probably just as bad for climate change https://www.spglobal.com/marketintelligence/en/news-insights...
mavhc··on What's inside the QR code menu at this cafe?
That's always been true, the wealthy have their giant plots of land with giant walls around them, the poor live side by side with thin walls

No one cares if the worst thing that happens is they get slightly better ads

mavhc··on Openpilot – Operating system for robotics
It's a useless number for consumers then, a Level 3 system could be way less safe/useful than a Level 2 system, because it only works on a sunny day in slow traffic with other cars for reference on a highway
