And are much less poisonous than what comes out of Fireworks for dev teams.
"Turn this picture/HTML export into code please."
For not using .Net I can understand the his detailed reasons, Java because it's a grumpy old man, Haskell because it's a paradigm shift etc...
Mirai was written all in common-lisp. Wings3D, inspired by Mirai, is written in Erlang.
Author does not know the difference between a caching layer, a transactional RDBMS, and distributed non-structured data store.
NoSQL is not ACID, any database NoSQL/RDBMS can be slow when not designed properly, caching is great when you can, and of course not enough people read documentation, only sensationalist trollop like this.
Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere all were released for IRIX. It's almost as if IRIX and Solaris used to have a very large workstation customer base then everything was migrated to NT, Mac, and Linux, how spooky those crazy expensive workstations didn't stay viable for long. O-M-G girlfriend, history is like totally repeating itself!
EDIT: I found: https://github.com/alexkasko/openjdk-unofficial-builds
Old / dead image editors (with deep colour) better than Photoshop at the time:
* IFX Amazon
* Alias Eclipse
* Da Vinci or something? Not the Colour/DI suite.
* Deep Paint
* Avid Matador
* I actually used Combustion for years. You can keep your photo-pap!
Alive alternatives:
* Cinepaint (Yes it works fine)
* GIMP 2.9 or GIMP 2.10 when it is released
* Node based compositing apps i.e. Nuke.
Fans of these games blatantly don't know what an engine is; the difference between a graphics library and a suite of tools and code to create a game.
Perhaps they are excited because the Valve developer wiki and Source Filmmaker have been teasing newer versions of the tools like Hammer, built with Qt.
Valve have never been one for pushing the limits of GPU's, like Blizzard, so they don't limit their audience. id tech, unreal, and crydev are the ones showing off what they can do with OpenGL/DirectX, not Valve.
Most people use the most basic features (bold, center, adjust margins and printing). That is not worth around £200!
It's been said before in plenty of articles right here on HN, the move is minimal. Users see the same icons (open, save, print), the menus are in the same locations, Libreoffice and MSOffice look the damn same. It' just like most problems with marketing, a lot of people cannot differentiate products or companies.
I have an event logger, that logs "interesting" MySQL server events to a tab separated file and then out to a central mongodb database. So I can query several servers results at once.
Formalisation of your normalisation! Applied Mathematics for Database Professionals is on the reading list, looking forward to it.
