Also, I'm a collector, so let me know if you want to sell any of them. In particular, don't have an Amiga and always wanted one.
So, while the mainframe CAN be a modern platform, it may not be used as such.

Love those days. You always felt like you were in a secret society. You couldn't talk to anyone else about what you were up to because they wouldn't understand it.
Thanks Randy and Ward for a great gift. BBSs are what sparked my interest in computers in the first place. Thanks Jason Scott for the great documentary. Watched it several months ago and it brought me back. Wow those were good times.
Although I won't be able to buy it for a while due to hardware expenses, I really applaud them in going the VR route. Personally wouldn't have done a prequel. This would have been a perfect HL3 fit. I'd love to hear why they chose a prequel to HL3. Buuuut, what's done is done and I'm sure they did a great job.
IMHO, I think Portal VR would have given a more immersive experience, along with less locomotion issues. However, I'm sure Valve has done their research.
My concern is, if this isn't met with favor, will Valve bow out of game development permanently? It just feels as if they are losing interest in new game development and would rather buy other studios and keep Steam chugging along. More money there..
Many of Microsoft's products are simple and boring at first glance. However, when you really want to flex it to do something powerful, the features are usually there. Their products have so many years of development in them and it shows because their products stand the test of time, particularly in the enterprise. I'm glad there are lot of other vendors entering the market though as it keeps companies like MSFT innovating.
