marketingfool··on Nintendo’s iconic logo escaped an “age-up” remake
Nintendo is known to be quite behind on innovation since the n64.

I think most gamers would consider any innovation since a gimmick or a terrible executed idea.

I don't think Nintendo could invent a new logo or new game. They seem like an antiquated company with a big marketing budget and high margin products.

I think it allows for low cost "benefits" HR can sell.

Sure they save 10% on real estate due to absences, but I wonder if it's to sell a cool look. GM just changed to open floor plan.

marketingfool··on Bitcoin Gold hit by 51% attacks, $72K in cryptocurrency double-spent
That's absolutely not true.

Heck proof of stake is significantly less secure because you can have stakes working together to game the system.

marketingfool··on Why Do American Houses Have So Many Bathrooms?
Cold water and wiping with a community towel.

You forget how advanced we've become with disposable toliet paper.

marketingfool··on Amazon Prime video gives amateur how-to’s, conspiracy theories a stage
As corrupt and inefficient as governments are, they seem to win wars and force vaccination.

But they also extremely inefficient, murder their own people and intentionally hide their corruption and mistakes.

I'm not sure what is best. Maybe middle of the road.

marketingfool··on Is Venture Capital Worth the Risk?
In the article it says 80 percent of the investments fail. If you can have that risk, I genuinely don't see the problem.

Heck for my personal angel investments I use 95 percent will fail. Yes it's risky, but the entire point was to find something that returns in the hundreds of percents rather than 7%.

The math works out.

I only worry about evil businesses getting this VC money or uneducated people making bad decisions on investments.

marketingfool··on Burnout: 'Sick and tired of feeling sick and tired'
My podcasts make my commute enjoyable rather than miserable. My apps make time waiting enjoyable.

But I basically don't use my phone at home. At most TV and gaming.

I can see hr getting cheap people, having loyal senior Engineers teach them, then having the cheap young Engineers burn out.

Cheaper than paying 6 figures, and the ones that stick around are permanently under 6 figure earners.

marketingfool··on Apple dropped plan for encrypting backups after FBI complained
It literally doesn't matter. You are talking about their latest ad campaign.

Apple internal is complete detached from the commercials you see. It's about sales, not teaching users.

marketingfool··on Smart homes will turn dumb overnight as Charter kills security service
I'm making a smart home device. Is there a solution to the domain/IP problem?

I'm not the embedded guy on the project but my thought was to use a domain name and have it check a DNS every hour.

That would solve it?

marketingfool··on How to Generate Sales Without a Marketing Team
In the future we are going to find out Tesla had a social media team that "maintained Tesla's reputation".

They did this by astroturfing and paying for upvotes/likes.

Tesla claims to not spend money on marketing, but I consider that a dubious claim.

marketingfool··on What DoorDash pays, after expenses, and what’s happening with tips
We hosted an Airbnb, we got awards for being top hosts and provided a cheaper stay than our local trash hotel.

Everyone that stayed over would become friends or friendly and we'd provide anything they requested.

The problem is the trash hotel nearby doesn't like competition and reported us to the city.

Have you been to Europe? The standard of living is below what is expected in the states.

It's nice to say removing tips and adding vacation is what workers want, but how will United States workers afford premium phones and buy larger houses?
