malms··on Living In A Van in Google's Backyard

malms··on Brain Drain Across the United States
Educating people does not make them smart.. thats not the point here.
malms··on Facebook 'unintentionally uploaded' 1.5M people's email contacts without consent
Or maybe people could learn again "personal responsibility" and realize that everything they give to facebook is exactly like giving oyur life to any compagny like Coca Cola, and that these compagny can do pretty much anything with it within the limits of the "laws that are actually enforced", whose number is pretty much 0.

Stop complaining, start taking responsibility.

malms··on Julian Assange arrested in London
it's not so much a stretch to say "transparency" is a political opinion..

i'm not even so much agreeing with what he did and full transparency, but to me all of this is clearly political.

malms··on Julian Assange arrested in London
why is he in trouble for then ?
malms··on Julian Assange arrested in London

malms··on Atheism Is Inconsistent with the Scientific Method

malms··on Atheism Is Inconsistent with the Scientific Method
> Atheism is a single position on a single claim. The claim is "There is a god", and the position is "I don't accept that claim".

Thats agnosticism.

malms··on The mass shooting in New Zealand was designed to spread on social media
I'm saying they are too much outliers that it doesn't make so much sense to listen to their "reasons" to annoy or suspect people with same sensibilities
malms··on The mass shooting in New Zealand was designed to spread on social media
Is that sarcastic ? It's true there are ideologies that are more enabling of violence though, but at the core it's just people that make no sense
malms··on The mass shooting in New Zealand was designed to spread on social media
> It's fairly clear what the cause of a mosque shooting is: Islamophobia.

I disagree.. It's like saying people who murdered journalists in france were victim of "jounalistophobia".

It doesn't make sense to me. Shooter are mostly mentally ill / violent people FIRST at the root, and then find a motive which is picked randomly in their education.

malms··on Intellectual Denial of Service Attacks, Part 2
I don't know they have normal profile of middle-class americans. Why so many people would they lose time doing so much trolling without clear profit ? Occam razor is my call here.

Also as Einstein said: there really only two things infinite: the universe and people's stupidity.

malms··on Principal component analysis: pictures, code and proofs (2018)
The problem of PCA is that it is very different of the metric you put on your feature space. Divide/multiply per three the coordinate of one feature can move from one important axis to a small one.

In most case where PCA is used for ML algorithm, it is a very important thing to take into account since you can lose a feature which is quite discriminating but that you'll squeeze in a discarded axis if its coordinate is too small.

There are obviously methods to avoid this like whitening the input data but it doesn't cut it completely.

malms··on Intellectual Denial of Service Attacks, Part 2
If only ^^. Look at the fb groups and all the videos on yt
malms··on Intellectual Denial of Service Attacks, Part 2

malms··on A PhD state of mind (2018)
It's both a money and commitment problem. Even without the money problem like in europe, ut makes a very unbalanced life to make so much sacrifice during a so long time..
malms··on Minister in Charge of Japan’s Cybersecurity Says He Has Never Used a Computer
I think there's definitely something to be impressed from a "human" perspective by from someone able to reach that high without the help of technology. It's the same with Trump or Putin
