madduci··on From the creator of Redis; run LLM locally with ds4
It worked, the change I had to do was also minimal for the compilation of the .cu unit. You can compile it for the whole iGPU family, not only a specific model.

I've submitted it as PR, as well as an initial implementation for an OpenAI like API

madduci··on From the creator of Redis; run LLM locally with ds4
Indeed! I let GLM5.3 write a patch as well, I will test it and submit to you as PR if it works. I've learned in the process that the 255H ships with DeepLink, which helps balancing the work between CPU and GPU (sounds like an OpenCL derivative?).

Can you share it? I have the same hardware, would be interested in trying it

madduci··on Nissan's third generation e-POWER powertrain
The EV range is just 3km for me. Very much a joke
madduci··on Nissan's third generation e-POWER powertrain
Exactly, as owner of one of the latest versions of Nissan cars with e-Power, I just can say that it is extremely inefficient, especially during winter, plus it isn't recognised at all as hybrid vehicle in Germany (it misses the "E" at the end of the car plate).

For comparison, the full classic gasoline engine with manual gearbox consumes less gasoline than the e-Power one. This is just some pure greenwashing, that isn't even explained at car dealerships and people can't say anything about it, when you ask for information.

Works like (?) an EV, it isn't an EV.

madduci··on Italian parliament votes for return to nuclear energy
At least it is greener and cheaper. Especially Solar cells have become incredibly cheap now. Combined with battery storage, it's far safer and cheaper than nuclear.

And in a territory affected from seismic activities, I would avoid nuclear at all

madduci··on Java 27
Privately yes, but at work getting the latest edge version isn't always the case
madduci··on Java 27
Seriously, how many are using always the latest releases of Java instead the LTS ones? With LTS ones you have ~2/3 years between the versions.
madduci··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026)
A FHIR Validator and Snapshot Generator that works offline and can communicate with the German national Terminology service
madduci··on Why are AI agents lying, cheating and coordinating?
They don't have independent agency as "intelligent entities". They just probe whatever is available on the system, because they were trained to do so.

It's a large switch/case where the first available tool is picked up to do something they know how to do.

madduci··on Why are AI agents lying, cheating and coordinating?
For the same reason that something written in Prolog can't also be classified as intelligent?

Just because something was trained on a massive amount of human data, doesn't mean that can think like humans

madduci··on Why are AI agents lying, cheating and coordinating?
And who let them have full access to the system, using whatever command is available in the environment?
madduci··on Why are AI agents lying, cheating and coordinating?
> LLMs do not desire, they hacked websites because OpenAI/Anthropic let them

OpenAI/Anthropic instructed them to do so.

Stop assume LLMs are capable of thinking by themselves, it's still a statistical model that parrots what they learn or users tell them to do

madduci··on Shopify is moving from React Native back to Swift and Kotlin
The article itself comes from AI ? It says twice why they switched from Native to React Native in two distinct paragraphs at the beginning. The rest sounds also AI slop jargon.

madduci··on My local model setup on an M4 Pro Mac Mini
Are you using the right configuration for your own CPU?

On a Laptop with 32 GB RAM and Iris Xe integrated graphic card, I get between 11-18 Tokens/Second with Qwen 3.8 27B and llama.cpp with sysl Intel optimisations. Same results with the vulkan back end, although sometimes it ends in weird segmentation faults due to the memory consumption.

madduci··on Qwen 3.8 27B is excellent, but it defaults to overthinking things
The issue was caused by Ollama. I've tried again with llama.cpp and mounting the igpu device correctly, I get 18-23 tk/s on the Iris Xe card under Debian, MUCH better than before.
madduci··on Don't use musl if you care about performance
good article points, but what's a good alternative Docker Image with a small footprint and a package manager to Alpine Linux, if you need to install something on it and powered by glibc?
