Growth = stress + rest. When physical or mental stress outpace rest you will get tired. The intensity and duration being the big differentiator.
We all dropped the ball on covid, but that doesn't mean everything is going to get the same foothold. I guess what I'm saying is that I will wash my groceries again if something crazy shows up but let's not assume global pandemics are just going to kick off constantly.
"the Comprehensive Crime Control Act of 1984.[14] This law permitted local and federal law enforcement agencies to share seized assets "... it appears to be motivated by all the wrong reasons.
It has origins in English law and has pretty much been used in a tyrannical way the entire time. I tried to see the other side at least.
I was hoping the long haul covid research would provide some insight but the truth is that anyone with post-viral long haul symptoms gets left behind.
Odds are that you are enthusiastic to embark on your new career and you haven't been exposed to some parts of the real world yet.
Young developers are often smart, passionate, driven. They also fall for a million traps... reinventing the wheel, worrying about trivial things like syntax instead of the big picture, tripping over every new, soon to be discarded library/stack/tool.
Older developers are usually good at making things happen, but are often cautious, unimaginative, uninspired. They are good at delivering real world value though.
Just assume the cognitive dissonance you are experiencing is the result of having drive and education without enough real world experience to make sense of it all. You will do fine.
I'm joking but it is alarming how many resources we seem to be sacrificing for a meager 5-7% average ROI. We are trying to eliminate market corrections at the expense of ??? who knows. It's cheap capital for business that are probably creating too many services and products that don't add a ton of value to anyone's lives.
Fighters like relaxed aerodynamic roll stability for roll rate. Now pitch stability issues are troubling. I don't think engineers would purposely relax pitch stability unless they had to.
I guess I'm saying you might want an airplane aerodynamically unstable in roll, but pretty much never in pitch so the fly by wire argument might not be valid here.
Yes I realize that saying this on hacker news or reddit is grounds for heavy downvotes and hate mail but good god people. This is all political gaming, not compassion.
Google doesn't actually care either. I hate call it virtue signaling but that's totally what it is even though that term is completely worn out at this point.
You understood that from the beginning but it rubbed you the wrong way for some reason. Let me guess, you think that offensive speech shouldn't fall under the protection of the 1st Amendment? That would be a real shocker.
Ahhhhhh goes down smooth every time.
There are also "compromise" antennas that use inductors and other trickery to be shorter. Are they efficient? Not great, but people make contacts on them everyday. (I have a 4-5 foot antenna that can operated on the same bands as my 65 foot antenna although it's not super efficient.
There are loop antennas that are tiny and portable but they can get expensive.
Also their are people that use an antenna tuner to tune a random piece of wire or even their gutters to get a workable HF antenna.
I learned visually at first and the amount of effort it took to unlearn it was unbelievable. You have to learn by hearing the audible character and have your brain immediately translated it through shear practice and repetition.
If you have to convert it to a visual dot dash symbol in your head you will be too slow to ever have a conversation on the air.
