loyalelectron··on Motivating Employees without Fear
Update: We decided to add names after all, including to this first one! This first Ask YC answer was from Kevin Hale.
loyalelectron··on Motivating Employees without Fear
We went back and forth about it. We ended up doing it this way for consistency's sake, since the questions are anonymized and different partners will be answering different ones. But this might change. I think it could make more sense for the partners to sign their names.
loyalelectron··on The Macro
Yep! It was a really fun moment when I first told PG the name.

For now, the best place to send them is macro@ycombinator.com. I think it will make sense to set up a dedicated HN Highlights submission address eventually!
loyalelectron··on The Macro
I'm Colleen, the editor of The Macro. Thank you!

It's more focused on the latter, but there is a "Hacker News Highlights" section that we'll probably update semi-regularly.

It was difficult to decide how to handle comments and whether to have them at all, so we opted to just leave them out for now. I like both of those ideas -- adding in a link to an article's analogous HN thread, and the official submit bot.

Thank you! Kevin Hale (https://news.ycombinator.com/user?id=kevin) is the designer/developer. I love it too.

I'm Colleen, the editor of The Macro. Happy to answer any questions and hear feedback!
loyalelectron··on Startup School Radio: How Optimizely Knew It Was on to Something Big
Fair point on the title -- perhaps I should have left it at "on to something." Will keep in mind for next time.
loyalelectron··on Go1 (YC S15) Wants to Make Compliance Training Suck Less
Rookie move, oy. Should be fixed now. Thanks Max :)
loyalelectron··on Paul Graham Says Y Combinator Is Pickier Than Ever, ‘Hardly Any’ Bad Startups
Hey, I'm the writer who wrote the second example cited here -- very good point in showing the difference between the two, so I wanted to try and clarify.

When Graham said the "hardly any" line on stage, it drew a pretty big laugh from the audience -- it seemed like a bit of humor on his part. The earnest meaning and connotation I took from that (and comments Graham gave off-stage) was that there were no obvious weak links in this batch.

loyalelectron··on Ask HN: Best practices when pitching your startup to Techcrunch, Mashable etc?
Yep, this is very good advice -- especially the last bit. An intro from an entrepreneur we know already, or a respectable VC, is the best way to grab our attention for a closer look.
