What if it's combined with a data privacy law? Instead of accept-this-cookie-to-track-you ... You would need to opt-in to data privacy, or opt-in to data profit-sharing

Since they're only stopping for the month of July, I now suspect that you're presumption is correct.
lowmemcpu··on Health Effects of Coffee
That's what led me down this path. Searching the internet for "how much caffeine is in a cup of coffee" leads to the question of "what is a cup?", "how did you brew it?", "what kind of grounds did you use?".

> As a means to get funding and interest in radioastronomy, by spinning more than a bit on the chances of it ever working, it made a lot of sense.

This sent me looking for the total half-century $ cost of SETI, but couldn't find it. Have any idea if that's been calculated?

lowmemcpu··on Health Effects of Coffee
> Habitual coffee consumption ranges from about 1 to more than 5 cups per day, which indicates that the daily dose is defined by something other than genetic reasons.

One curious question I've always struggled with is, what is a "true" cup of coffee? I've often seen people say a "coffee" cup is 6 oz, but then I'm confused by this:

1 US cup = 8 oz

1 Imperial (British) = 10 oz

1 Australian cup = 8.45 oz

> A UBI can possibly help prevent this type of silliness.

I'm not so sure. That's a handwave past social issues, and sounds like a bandaid-for-a-bandaid.

So if we give UBI out, can I suddenly plug my monitor into a socket without violating a union contract?

It helps to report accounts to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram if you suspect them of being a politically-motivated bot.
lowmemcpu··on A Peek Inside the Erlang Compiler (2012)
I've been interested in learning Erlang, but haven't seen more than one or two jobs that hired for it. I'm probably looking in the wrong fields (back end) or locations.

Could someone point me? Is there a certain industry that has more predominant Erlang jobs?
