Either you’re joking, or you absolutely didn’t live through the late 90’s to see the sheer insanity of what the Furby craze was really like. Furbies would be resold for hundreds of dollars, absolutely no exaggeration. It was mind boggling.

You have absolutely hit the nail on the head; here.
I think - Ye aside - Yeezy is a great example of how there can be a balance between this like insane run of only 1000 shoes (which only sell for like $250-350 USD retail anyway…so - yeah - where’s the profit again?) - to mass market ‘Wal-Mary’ level availability.
The only people who benefit from limited releases are scalpers. Period. There’s no way the shoe company makes that much profit off a limited release because the limited releases are wildly somehow still usually at ‘regular’ prices.
A solid pair of YEEZY 350’s is not that hard to come by for any even half-committed sneakerhead, I’ve got 3 pairs and my girlfriend has two. We hardly tried. I won the lottery twice myself, and only ever entered 6 times.
It’s really a shame what happened with Ye, because despite all the drama; the Yeezy fashion project was actually an interesting one that had some real potential to find an actual, honest-to-God balance between artificial scarcity and actually selling the goddamn product.
Just make more shoes, damnit…
Asking because I don’t actually know, I’m just recalling a lot of my early ROM hacking, and indeed discoveries in ROMs, by manipulating memory and savestate rather than the ROM itself.
This will be a document I'll keep around for the foreseeable future. Amazing work.
There was also New Super Mario Bros. and New Super Mario Bros DS which were fantastic. There's also Super Mario Maker...so; yeah.
Ten minutes into that movie when Leia somehow comes back to in deep space I was ready to walk out of the theatre.
It’s not an ‘overreaction’ to see The Last Jedi as a fundamentally awful film, it’s just the knee-jerk reaction most people I know who have seen it have gotten.
Whether you’re a Star Wars fan or not; ‘The Last Jedi’ is just a clear-as-day not-good film. But when you do actually take the time to analyze it and compare it to the original trilogy; it’s borderline unbelievable just how God-awful it really is.
I also never understood the idea that they hadn’t just kept the same director for the three films. 7/8/9 feels less like a trilogy than a disjointed mess of films imitating far better films.
I’ve connected with some incredible people; even in real life, through it - and my server (tech.lgbt) has a feed that harkens back to the good old days of Internet forums and IRC chat groups.
I’ve turned at least half a dozen of my friends and both my partners onto it, and I’ve gotta say, that beyond an initial rather annoying setup process that desperately needs to be streamlined, Mastadon is everything I’d want a social network to be.
I can see myself easily ditching all the rest of my socials except LinkedIn this year in favour of Mastodon. I basically literally keep Instagram around to chat with one of my partners and rarely use Facebook anymore. I might keep Messenger and just ditch the FB profile part.
Has Mastodon had a profound effect for anyone else here? I was extremely sceptical; but now evangelical.
I can’t personally imagine the struggle she went through all that time ago; having the courage to be herself when even today it’s been a personal struggle.
Gems like her really only come around every once in a while.
They charged a lot of people money to participate in an experiment to see if they could ever do it with the promise that they could do it soon enough that it would sell, only to gradually let the truth set in.
Now people are rightfully pissed, that none of these promises that - to be fair, mostly Musk, made; have come to any sort of fruition, they’re tired of paying to be Guinea pigs; and they want the finished final product.
It’s not the failure to realize it, it’s that the product was sold with dates it was expected to be functional to x degree by.
Tesla FSD may be one of the simplest examples of false advertising I can think of that’s still going.

Depends on the label and the artist. Could be easier, could be much harder. Sometimes multi-stems just don't exist anymore; were lost, have additional licensing issues; labels are a nightmare to deal with.
I would actually take that and record out from that to another tape, so I could have 'instrumental' versions of the songs.
And, no - it doesn't work very well at all; it sounds like a poor 64kbps MP3 with bizarre artifacts and; yes - many missing instruments.
I only found it so funny because obviously, those are two of the most significant and important films / directors of all time; and the concept of ‘Stanley Kubrick’s Apocalypse Now’ is just both utterly fascinating and totally humorous.
Not sure what your age has anything to do with your comment or mine; though? Except that I guess that obviously as a grown man you’d have a much easier time identifying these two films and their directors than, say; a 20-year-old? Is that what you’re saying? Sorry; I think it just went over my head.
