loloquwowndueo··on Why is Google still serving dodgy ads?
If a site doesn’t let me see it with my ad blocking enabled, I just go elsewhere.
loloquwowndueo··on Vintage Scientific Papers with LaTeX
Nice! Where is it? Thanks for sharing. (Also hopefully not in GitHub , it’s always down)
loloquwowndueo··on Killing with a car costs $1.6M, California requires drivers to carry $30K
lol as a Canadian my insurance company recommends the maximum civil liability coverage (2 million) if one plans to drive in the US. Those lawsuit-happy Americans and their private health care systems haha.
loloquwowndueo··on AirPods 5
That was not the question.
loloquwowndueo··on AirPods 5
Dirty q tips? Eww :)
loloquwowndueo··on AirPods 5
It’s a press release. Press releases are ads.
loloquwowndueo··on AirPods 5
Dunno man, I bought a cheap set once and they were abysmal, I hated them so much I just destroyed them in a rage when they started malfunctioning yet again. I got AirPods and haven’t looked back, they just work all the time. Granted I’ve never dropped them :)
loloquwowndueo··on AirPods 5
It’s Apple so the answer is clear: shorter stems look nicer. Functionality be damned. You’re holding it wrong my dude. Nobody wants to look like they have q-tips in their ears.
loloquwowndueo··on I-have-ADHD: A skill to stop coding agents from burying the answer
I just tell Claude itself to summarize its walls of text. Works pretty well.
loloquwowndueo··on PISA 2025 Students' reading and mathematics performance declined across the OECD
Not unless it’s written by a total novice. But hey - as in my previous reply, if you’re happy with AI-written code and honestly can’t see the difference, that’s ok. Do whatever floats your boat.
loloquwowndueo··on PISA 2025 Students' reading and mathematics performance declined across the OECD
That’s the thing - many times it’s not obvious. But go check that chunk of code that, sure, works, and you’ll find subtleties that just don’t look right. But hey - you do you if that’s the kind of quality you’re happy with.
loloquwowndueo··on PISA 2025 Students' reading and mathematics performance declined across the OECD
Can other devs spew out crap at the same speed at AI? Cleaning up fifteen 10kloc pull requests per day? Yeah didn’t think so.
loloquwowndueo··on PISA 2025 Students' reading and mathematics performance declined across the OECD
Dunno man, the articles ai writes are empty cardboard crap, and the code it produces is hot garbage. “Cleaner upper of AI messes” might be a good future skill to have.
loloquwowndueo··on Caltech Mathathon – first hackathon ever devoted to research level mathematics
If the goal is to run 42km why limit yourself? Use a car and win.
loloquwowndueo··on Nitter and XCancel resume service after legal advice
Access management is already a problem - just maybe they haven’t run into it. What happens when the employee who has the twitter password leaves? (This is France so the only way is probably retirement).

A bespoke system with an interface similar to twitter sounds like it’d be a suitable solution. And I bet it can be vibe coded in 5 minutes.

loloquwowndueo··on Live map of public transport in Belgium
That’s because dark mode itself is hard to read. Use normal mode like god intended your eyes will thank you.
loloquwowndueo··on South African diamond mines are closing due to weak sales and lab-grown stones
“I heard” = hearsay. Citation needed. (I mean, I heard the earth is flat - but it’s not)
loloquwowndueo··on South African diamond mines are closing due to weak sales and lab-grown stones
I would for the same price as it doesn’t involve killing a cow. That’s a plus for me!
loloquwowndueo··on South African diamond mines are closing due to weak sales and lab-grown stones
You both need to provide citations my dudes.
loloquwowndueo··on Gmail to end support for "Send as" for third-party addresses, such as @yahoo.com
There you go, was that so hard to include in the original document?
loloquwowndueo··on Gmail to end support for "Send as" for third-party addresses, such as @yahoo.com
> third-party email addresses, such as @yahoo.com or @outlook.com.

Unfortunate choice of examples as it doesn’t make it clear whether it applies just to other free web email providers or also to e.g. my own custom domains.

loloquwowndueo··on Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Mythos 5.1
He doesn’t. Claude does.

What’s your honest take on how load-bearing its use of em-dashes is now? Measured, not guessed.

Use your feet, car centric person.

loloquwowndueo··on Get your Windows license refund
You can but the price is the same.
loloquwowndueo··on GitHub Outage Tracker: Is GitHub Cooked?
I’d have sympathy for the pre-Microsoft GitHub. For the thing they are now, backed by a top-5 company with trillions of dollars? Cry me a river.
