logro··on XZ backdoor story – Initial analysis
For a state level attack, that wouldn't even help. They'd just use state level forged documents.
logro··on Unit Tests Considered Harmful
If your not Dijkstra then using title like that negatively affects people's perception of your post.
logro··on I Lost Faith in Kagi
I don't use Kagi, but this post reads much more like a PR smear campaign than anything else.
logro··on Readme.txt vs. README.txt (2015)
Absolutely. Over the years countless projects have missed contributions from me because of a bad README.
logro··on Ronda Rousey: "I never wanted to talk about concussion"
> an athletic commission is responsible for refereeing

This sounds a bit like a distancing attempt.

Surely those referees follow the rules of UFC. So ultimately UFC is responsible no matter which entity enforces the rules.

logro··on My deployment platform is a shell script

  my script will never:
  - go down
  - require an upgrade
  - force me to migrate
  - surprise me
  - keep me up at night
Oh my sweet summer child.
logro··on Spotify demonetizes all tracks under 1k streams
I think "theft" closer describes this rather than "demonetization"
logro··on Dot – A standalone open source app meant for easy use of local LLMs and RAG
I have a reasonably wast library of technical/scientific epubs/documents. Could I use this to import them and the quiz the books?
logro··on World_sim: LLM prompted to act as a sentient CLI universe simulator
Thanks, I was looking for this. The wobble is so distracting that I couldn't even check try this out.
logro··on Why Don't I Like Git More?
> this is massive overkill

Then just create a few aliases for yourself and forget the rest.

People think that git is complex. It is.

The task it's accomplishing is insanely complicated.

logro··on Infrastructure as code is not the answer (2022)
With the same logic you can say that contraceptives are not the answer because they aren't 100% effective.

Of cause IAC is mis-sold like anything new. It's not the end of all your problems. But as someone who's had to deal with the opposite too, infrastructure-as-a-weird-mystery-that-accidentally-happened-over-20-years-and-only-long-bearded-john-knows, IAC is fantastic.

logro··on 'Lavender': The AI machine directing Israel's bombing in Gaza
So if you're just an 9-5 office based terrorist doing admin stuff, you're off limits?
logro··on Reflections on Distrusting xz
This is 100% malicious or novice coder. And we surely know it's not the latter.

If you need an unsafe call, you add a dict_put_unsafe(). That again should of course be rejected in a code review.

logro··on Saffron: The Most Expensive Spice
Had anyone tried to grow their own saffron? How did it go?
logro··on Reflections on Distrusting xz
Those two topic don't have much in common, trusting a state level hacker actor vs. trusting people in general.
logro··on Reflections on Distrusting xz
Trusting anything from that actor is full on ignorant, let alone "a new decoder". It's insane.
logro··on The end of Google Podcasts is in June if you're not in the US
I didn't even know Google Podcasts was a thing.

How times have changed. I used to get excited about all Google products but now I generally see them all as toxic.

logro··on YouTube: Google has found a way to break Invidious
What a commendable dialog.
logro··on Roll-Invert-Unroll: An easier way to replace a duvet cover
Dude, a toasty hot duvet in a freezing cold bedroom far in the northern hemisphere is something you're missing out on.
logro··on Some notes on Firefox’s media autoplay settings in practice as of Firefox 124
I occasionally use that feature. But absolutely every single time is by mistake and it has negative effects on my mood. Still love Firefox though.
logro··on British water company dumps sewage, claims "no right to swim in the sea"
But we're allowing it for just £50/year plus £15 admin fee. It has been automatically added to your direct debit.

Thanks for doing business with Steaming Shitwater.

logro··on Sam Bankman-Fried sentenced to 25 years in prison
There is nothing "median" or "average" about this crime. This is one of the biggest financial frauds in U.S. history.
logro··on Flatpak builds are not reproducible and why that's a practical problem (2022)
What was and still is wrong with it?
logro··on Deej: An open-source hardware volume mixer for Windows and Linux
There's no way this project is for you. But let us enjoy it at least.
