loa_observer··on Show HN: Put Greenland on the Moon (interactive map for size compare)
there is a counrty list settings in the right panel, which you can select any country and add it to map
loa_observer··on Show HN: Interactive Map you can drag a country to Mars/Moon/Jupiter
thanks for the ux feedback, will ship a better version soon. by the way, there is a fullscreen model which the drag-and-drop experience might feel better
loa_observer··on Show HN: Drag-and-drop playground to compare the true sizes of countries
just updated a new version to seperate them, you can have a try :)
loa_observer··on Show HN: Picknplace.js, an alternative to drag-and-drop
how does it work with more complex layout not just vertical list of items, like those drag-and-drop for visualization UI: https://github.com/Kanaries/graphic-walker

you can see that there are different areas of draggable and droppable, on different directions.

loa_observer··on SQLite JSON at full index speed using generated columns
duckdb is super fast for analytic tasks, especially when u use it with visual eda tool like pygwalker. it allows u handles millions of data visuals and eda in seconds.

but i would say, comparing duckdb and sqlite is a little bit unfair, i would still use sqlite to build system in most of cases, but duckdb only for analytic. you can hardly make a smooth deployment if you apps contains duckdb on a lot of platform

loa_observer··on GPT-5.2
does the model really improve? i tried several tasks today, and most of them failed, which are super easy ones.

maybe it's just because the gpt5.2 in cursor is super stupid?

loa_observer··on Show HN: Wealthfolio 2.0- Open source investment tracker. Now Mobile and Docker
it would be great if it can integrate a graphic walker compoennt for those tablaur data visualzation on-flight

https://github.com/Kanaries/graphic-walker

loa_observer··on Cursor 1.0
I am building a jupyter native code agent that interact with jupyter kernel better and can understand data, charts, etc. Not just read/edit jupyter files.

video demo here, https://x.com/ob12er/status/1930439669130637482?s=46&t=2jNrj...

loa_observer··on Big Book of R
I hope gwalkr can be added to this book, it's pretty intereting updates for visualizations in R recent years.

repo: https://github.com/Kanaries/GWalkR site: https://kanaries.net/gwalkr

loa_observer··on The DuckDB Local UI
For further visual EDA, pygwalker provides advanced features for interactive data visualization, which is also built based on duckdb.

github: https://github.com/Kanaries/pygwalker

loa_observer··on The DuckDB Local UI
pygwalker also have a kernel compuataion mode which allows you to use duckdb to handle all queries from pygwalker UI.
loa_observer··on GPT-4.5
You got 10x price but not 10x quality
loa_observer··on Show HN: Inscribed, create stop motion animation and slide powered by Excalidraw
Wow, it looks really easy to use.
loa_observer··on Show HN: A blocklist to remove spam and bad websites from search results
everytime i search content about supabase, some trash ai generated content website like restack shows and waste my time. I am not saying restack is bad, but a customizable blocker to block the site for specific topic might be good for me.
loa_observer··on Tell HN: Received a CV rigged with an injected LLM prompt
You have to hire that genius.
loa_observer··on Vega – A declarative language for interactive visualization designs
JSONC seems solved your issue
loa_observer··on Vega – A declarative language for interactive visualization designs
Wow, Vega is here!

All our projects for data analytic and visualization are based on vega/vega-lite, really impressive by vega's signals design when i learned it first time(it's like rxjs, which i also love).

Share some work based on vega/vega-lite:

- PyGWalker: turn dataframe to tableau alternative UI in jupyter: https://github.com/Kanaries/pygwalker - RATH: Automation of data exploration workflow with one click. https://github.com/Kanaries/Rath - GWalkR: drag-and-drop based visualization in RStudio, https://kanaries.net/gwalkr

loa_observer··on CRDT: Movable Trees
Definitely a high-quality, detailed article worth reading.
loa_observer··on Show HN: SQL Explorer – Open-source reporting tool that Just Works
nice work, it would be better to add graphic walker for interactive data visualization (also include pivot table): https://github.com/Kanaries/graphic-walker
loa_observer··on Significant Drop in PyPI Package Downloads Observed
It drops even more today...it seems not caused by some optimization
loa_observer··on Show HN: Openkoda – Open–source, private, Salesforce alternative
A post get more than 100 upvotes within one hour with no real source code and very few commits. I really doubt where the votes come from.
loa_observer··on Show HN: Open-source BI and analytics for engineers
Seems a lit samiliar to redash, writing sql to build dashboards. or using pygwalker + streamlit for more customization. https://docs.kanaries.net/pygwalker
loa_observer··on Show HN: React and Tailwind CSS UI Components
Just come here and share my real thoughts as a potential customer.

Bought the tailwind components before, The reason that drives me to buy it is because they can really help me build landing page, and pricing page really fast.

The components in code snaps is limited and not too much fancy and complete templates, which I can hardly find reason for purchasing.

loa_observer··on Show HN: Use tailwindCSS/shadcn UI to build beautiful app in Python streamlit
Element seems to only work with other components built with element now, why not turn other components element-based.
loa_observer··on WeWork plans to file for bankruptcy as early as next week, source says
It seems I need to find a new place to work, so sad.
loa_observer··on Causal inference as a blind spot of data scientists
We built some causal discovery and inference features with graph visualization in Kanaries RATH: https://docs.kanaries.net/rath/discover-causals/causal-analy...

It's also open-sourced. Welcome to have a try.

loa_observer··on Boost pygwalker's speed for visual analysis with duckDB
Discussion about it: https://space.kanaries.net/t/pygwalker-larger-dataset-suppor...
loa_observer··on Use pygwalker to build visual analysis app in streamlit
latest update, use pygwalker in R with GWalkR: https://github.com/Kanaries/GWalkR
loa_observer··on Use pygwalker to build visual analysis app in streamlit
You can have a look at graphic-walker behind pygwalker, which provides more API to interact. graphic-walker is a react component and pygwalker is the python binding of it.
loa_observer··on Use pygwalker to build visual analysis app in streamlit
pygwalker is actually a python binding of graphic-walker, which can be embedded in any environment: A R binding of graphic-walker, a plugin of graphic-walker in excel, etc.
