lnsignificant··on About to incorporate, my father wants in.
If he agrees to it. Just out of curiosity, why do you care if he's doing this for less than altruistic reasons?
lnsignificant··on About to incorporate, my father wants in.
You could always grant him a piece, say 5%, with incentives that can be granted over time while certain company KPI's are met (you both could co-write these), pushing up closer to 10% in the event of some sort of fund raising he would be a part of. This covers a lot of your risk, and sets the stage for a solid working relationship. You need to manage both in this instance, which makes the relationship more complex, but could end up with you having your cake and eating it too.
lnsignificant··on About to incorporate, my father wants in.
Tough situation, and you never mix money and family, but I would give him a piece. Not because he thinks he deserves it, but because it's a nice gesture and he's probably right that he will probably be investing into it. I don't envy the decision you have to make, but if your relationship with him before this was great, I would personally let him in.

good luck

I actually read everything on that page.
lnsignificant··on Guelph family lives like it's 1986
This is retarded. They are holding up their kids development to make a point; especially the older one. So while his classmates are whizzing around the internet, this kid has to work that much harder...

If they want to do this correctly, they should be providing dial-up and a 133MHZ computer for their 5 year old (they probably have an AOL cd kicking around too; lord knows they still sell their dial-up).

...I'm so pissed off I can't even put together a proper response to this.

The fact of the matter is that if your kids aren't looking up from their iphones, that's a parenting issue, not a technology one.

lnsignificant··on Power vs Influence - Choose one.
If it's a decision between being either Gail Wynand or Ellsworth Toohey, I choose the latter. Toohey was able to build grassroots support that ultimately won the struggle. Power can be lost as quick as it can be gained. Influence seems to be a different beast from my experience.
