I had to check the date to see if this wasn't published April 1st. Someone should protect these people against themselves.

Why did no one at the bank said "this might not be the best idea" when the family told they wanted to sell their house to finance the new social media revolution?

Robinhood will lend people money, so they can invest with that. Buying stocks with money that isn't yours. What could possibly go wrong here?

lexoon Ask HN: I’ve been applying to a million jobs

I take it you're applying to NYC startups without a US working visa. Even though you are willing to work remote it is an extra hassle to hire you instead of a local. Most startups won't go through the trouble if they can get comparable locals. So either indicate why you are unique and so much better than Americans or start looking for jobs in Europe.

Also, it helps to know people.
