I’m not entirely sure Google should have both Go and Carbon but when you have billions in server costs it makes sense to do extreme stuff for even basis points of performance. I’m still surprised at how much java there is.

Exxon is up 40% year-to-date (YTD), BP is up 20% YTD while SNP500 is up 12% YTD.
So I'm not even sure the premise of this tangent is correct; oil stocks aren't shown to be the recipient of the current price spike.
I mean, it's very low effort to have somebody else do all the work. But you'll never see a self-employed electrician creating an account in the Cayman Islands to avoid taxes.
The goal of a hedge fund is definitionally to hedge some risk. If you work in say AI then they should invest very little of your funds into AI (to hedge against a blow-up in AI eliminating your income and if you invested in ai also your savings). In the current environment they’d almost certainly have below market returns. It doesn’t make the hedge fund bad; the hedge is meant to counteract losses not double down on gains.
Thats said, a lot of hedge funds now operate as pod shops and that goal is to beat the market.
But also the waves overlap so we’d still have about 700k cars in additional supply.
Words change around you. Much like how Republican doesn’t mean fiscal responsibility or small government for many decades.
You may not feel that way and thats fine. Just like people think the world is flat. Nothing you do is going to be affected by that ignorance.
Nobody is going to want to use a platform with spam.
The dutch became a bicycle paradise with the same strategy. They just started a couple generations ago.
The problem is only when you set a goal of say 2035 but don’t plan to do anything until 2033. Then it’s clear the plan is to give up in 2031.
Pretty much every time somebody backs up these kinds of claims it shows something else.
1) posts going out 500 times a day in all caps (who is arguing you can’t suppress spam?)
2) the post that you read and so clearly wasn’t suppressed.
3) they’re linking to a low scoring comment
If you go find the original ones it’s all about defending Facebook. Basically you can’t give our data to a competitor or build one. There’s a reason they had to quickly release a new ToS and its cause CA didn’t break it.
Especially since it uses your cookies by default.
15k/2M is 75 basis points. Its definitely profitable to just sit on land especially if you turned it into a parking lot or some other barely improved thing.
The standard iPhone warranty disclaims water damage [1] and Apple has been sued in the past for using humidity activated sensors.
Nothing! There are also a lot of vocational schools.
Maybe we'll see some unbundling but I doubt it.
Who wants to learn Circuit Design from a college with a lab from the 1980s? As opposed to one publishing research papers on the newest techniques?
What better way to get Alumina donations than giving them a tribal ties to the institution with sports teams?
It's not though.
"Potential" is just that, potential. They're not claiming any actual harm to them about this. It's akin to saying, potentially terrorists could upgrade 1 GB chips for missiles.
There also just isn't a support burden for them.
If I buy a 2 GB RasPi5 and upgraded it into an 8 GB RaspPi5 and then _you buy it from me_ and it does not work. You cannot mail it to the RasPi Foundation and ask for a refund. They will tell you that they don't sell directly to consumers and to contact whomever you bought the device from for the refund.
---
I'm fine taking the contrarian opinion that RasPi can lock down their products if they want. But a spade is a spade. It's not about "Potential support burden". It's about the realized profitability of a 8 GB unit over a 2 GB unit.
You think he didn't teach his children anything about finance?
I'm not even sure he can use his own account as one of them. The SEC might be pretty friendly to him but I'm not sure that limiting access to a location where material information about Tesla/SpaceX is provided won't become a problem.
But I'm not even sure what damages the accounts are suffering as revenue sharing is going away [1]. With Bartz the damage is a loss of sale. With X the damage is $0 per post to the poster.
There is a newer Original Content Rewards program [2] but it seems to split revenue from X Premium and presumably people that have X Premium are not using XCancel so the damages would be 0.
If you take exports / inflation there is a trend downward starting in 2024 [2] but 2025 is Trumps 2nd term so it's kinda been increased exports since then. Maybe at a retail level there's less demand for US but not in aggregate.

Is X claiming ownership of the posts people make because pretty much every single social media site doesn't so they have section 230 protection.
Ex. Google Wallet -> Android Pay -> Google Pay -> Google Wallet [1]
A big difference here is that X has been pretty clear on it has no intent to launch a product called Twitter. I doubt you can find similar statements from Google saying they'd never launch a Google Wallet after the Android Pay rebrand.
See every false dmca filing ever.
Even Martha Stewart was "obstruction of justice" for providing incorrect answers that the prosecuters already knew the correct answer to.
You don't think Ukrainians can't buy stuff from Russia (and vice-versa)?
If I make the claim, immigrants cause crime and I show a bunch of mug shots of immigrants who were arrest for crimes. That's a foundation.
The solution isn't to pretend things aren't foundations. The solution is go expand the equal air-times rules so that if you want to argue for political change (official immigration policy) you have to allow the other side to show arguments of immigrants commit crimes below average.
There are immigrants who commit crimes. Sure, it's not _every_ Mexican is a rapist and we're probably talking about basis points of basis points here. But it's a foundation.
Hunter Biden did get money from people who wanted access to Joe Biden. Sure, Joe didn't actually help them out. But it's a foundation.
The problem isn't the unfoundedness it's that it's extrapolated beyond what the foundation supports.
The big difference between holding land vs gold/stock is that land is finite. If the price of gold spikes then people will build more gold mines. That's economic activity. If the price of land goes up then people can't make more so there's no economic activity.
If the price of stocks go up then more companies will IPO which directly funds economic activity (those companies's operations).
Granted, it doesn't as well into the economy as directly as if it were tax'd and then spent improving bridges and whatnot.
They're allowed to pay employees market rate.
People only want cash during the crash so the value of everything goes down. It doesn't matter if you bond has a known 8% yield when held to maturity; the market can't hold it to maturity so its current value drops.
Like go find 2008 in the graph of BND (Vanguard Bond ETF) vs SPY (SNP500) [1]. Let me know how you'd know when to sell your bonds for stocks.
