latraveler··on Cloudflare API Down
why don't they just make the plane out of the status page?
latraveler··on Hackers take over prominent Twitter accounts in simultaneous attack
Exactly, this would be a pretty reckless way to prove an exploit. You could just tell the potential buyer to create a new account and then tweet from that handle.
latraveler··on Turkey determined to control social media platforms, Erdogan says
that's fine, then it's time to slap most of big tech with massive anti-trust cases
latraveler··on Turkey determined to control social media platforms, Erdogan says
HN/Reddit ...

Good = Social media companies selectively controlling the platform they built

Bad = Telecom companies selectively controlling the platform they built

latraveler··on Baremetrics for Buffer
You have to respect a company thats not afraid to open up their numbers like this. I love this trend of financial transparency for startups. Numbers are the clearest way for me to crystallize things as an entrepreneur.
latraveler··on How Gmail happened: The inside story on its launch, ten years later
I'm lucky that the launch of Gmail happened when it did. I was a sophomore in college when I launched my first startup and I was tempted to use my .edu (my primary address at the time) or the @yahoo.com I had set up years before for random stuff. The pain of switching isn't something I've had to deal with fortunately.
latraveler··on Automate your Ad Analytics Spreadsheets
Great idea for a startup! I've struggled with this in the past.
latraveler··on Radial NCAA Bracket in D3.js
Great stuff. I wish this was posted yesterday before I filled out mine.
latraveler··on Introducing OneNote for Mac
Notational is so badass. I'm going to give OneNote a hard look when I have some time but I'm so used to Notational that I might just stick with it. I would like to see some additional formatting options in NV but the speed and UX are unbeatable.
latraveler··on Introducing OneNote for Mac
Yep. OneNote might have been the single hardest app to give up when I made the switch to Mac back in '08.
latraveler··on Show HN: See where in the world the F-bomb is being dropped
So its basically a map of who's using Twitter, lol nice.
latraveler··on It’s time to say goodbye
Thats an odd bit of news. I'm in the CRM market (http://www.radiumcrm.com) and as a competitor I always admired the product. It was a very clean UI, had some nice features and was a good complement to the behemoth that is Salesforce. I can't imagine why they would shut it down.
latraveler··on Show HN: South Park in CSS
This is great, thanks for sharing
latraveler··on Unsubscribe from all LinkedIn email in one click
It says something that LinkedIn has come to this. I've fiddled with the email settings on almost 10 separate occasions. Those controls do pretty much nothing though, either accidentally or intentionally.
latraveler··on f.lux has been updated to a new version
My eye fatigue was so bad a month I thought of changing professions. I wouldn't say f.lux has cured it completely but it has helped significantly.
latraveler··on The Workman Keyboard Layout
Thats an interesting idea. I'm sure the QWERTY could be improved but it would be tough trying to switch back and forth until it was fully adopted.
latraveler··on How not to validate email addresses
All the points you make are excellent. I've always leaned to the 'greedy' regex, but never thought to articulate exactly why. http://www.radiumcrm.com
latraveler··on WTF is a Hackathon?
I get so sick of explaining 'its not that kind of hacking' that I just quit using the term to non-techies lol. http://www.radiumcrm.com
latraveler··on StackEdit: A free, open-source Markdown editor based on PageDown
I'm glad you asked, I was thinking the same thing. Nice work though, you get a bookmark on my computer!

Thanks, my years of steady learning seems so lackluster now :P

latraveler··on My Style: Custom CSS for unappealing sites you visit
Great for practical jokes and April Fools Day tricks I might add.
latraveler··on Show HN: Forked and updated the Chrome RSS subscription extension Google removed
I asked this question on SO the other day, perhaps someone here knows a solution ...

For the past few years I've been using Google Reader to archive my Twitter and Facebook history for various reasons. Obviously yesterday's news really threw a wrench in everything.

My problem ...

I need a way to export every 'article' from 3 subscriptions I have (not just the subscription URL) and import those into a good RSS reader (open to suggestions). Anyone have any advice?

Does anyone know how a good solution to this.

latraveler··on Show HN: My all-nighter project to find the best Google Reader alternative
Feedly looks cool and all, but how do I add a feed? I spent 2 minutes and still can't figure it out.
latraveler··on Write Better with Draft
Simple, do something like jsfiddle. Let me play around with it, then if I want to save the doc I'll register.
latraveler··on Why Facebook will never make a significant profit
I agree, I'm kind of surprised we haven't heard much of anything on the ad network front from FB. I think an Adsense competitor and a Paypal competitor are the two big items they could have.
latraveler··on Silicon Valley's dirty secret - age bias
I've been telling people this for years. It needs to be cut out of the SV culture because if not most of us young guys (27 here) will be suffering from it on the backend of our careers.

How are you managing to convert MS Office docs if you don't mind?
latraveler··on An Overview of the Web
Thanks! I learned some and the parts I knew already I couldn't have put it any better
