Horror stories like these have scared me away from ever getting LASIK, even though I'm apparently an ideal candidate. Vision is such a important sense, I would never want to risk damaging it.
It is depressing to realize that there is such a vast amount of interesting content out there, and I will only be able to experience a tiny fraction of it.
I'd love for this to get widely adopted if it can remove the pain points around sending images through SMS/MMS. I have no confidence that recipients ever actually receive the images I text them.
Where can I view these brilliant colors in person? Apparently these colors are so vibrant, they cannot be accurately displayed on monitors: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NzVmtbPOrM
I think it's possible that keyboard usage is decreasing at this point. My nephew's elementary school stopped offering typing classes, however I'm amazed by how quickly he can type on a touchscreen!
When I was still on Facebook, I used a 3rd-party Facebook app alternative. I forget which one exactly, but I distinctly remember being impressed that it barely needed any permissions.
How is "up or out" enforced? If someone is consistently performing for their level but never seeks promotion, would they just be unceremoniously fired?
Good thing they decided to keep the gameplay the same, like Starcraft: Remastered. I never played AoE 1 competitively, but if it's like SC many bugs/glitches became core gameplay mechanics. Here's hoping the AoE 1 remake fares better than the one for AoE 2!
I accidentally selected "always continue playback from where you left off" for audio files instead of restarting from the beginning, how can I undo this change? I don't see any relevant settings in preferences (on macOS 10.12).
I'm reminded of that scene in Rain Man where Dustin Hoffman's character instantly counts exactly how many toothpicks a waitress drops. No idea how realistic that was, but perhaps some humans are able to use those circuits dedicated toward counting that have long gone dormant in our species.
Not sure if this is considered part of dentistry, but when I got consultations for jaw surgery, they used some sort of wand with a camera to build a 3D model of my mouth. I thought that was pretty high tech.
