landcoctos··on BMW Connected Apps Protocol
Maybe it's because exceptions for car systems are so low.
landcoctos··on BMW Connected Apps Protocol
>And the UX is pretty good. The computer controls can almost be used by memory, they're very close to hand and well laid out. The nav is so-so but the in-dash lane view makes it sane for big cities.

But the software is awful. It's not poorly designed, necessarily, but it's buggy as hell.

Interesting. I have a 2015 BMW 3 Series with professional I-Drive and I still find it one of the best systems available.

Is free conference call really free?

Don't they collect fees from the incoming call network? What's the real story?

Same here. For some reason cannot read with Javascript and reader mode doesn't appear as an option for this page. What's the reason?

I've never considered buying a drone however I would certainly not buy one that required an app + required user account to operate a piece of offline equipment.
landcoctos··on DJI Mavic Mini
Argh! Just when I thought the drone fad had passed...
landcoctos··on Instagram now forces people to sign in to view public profiles
> Then they changed it to block location-tagged postings too. Which is a bummer

Yes this was a bummer too. I used it all the time. Now I use hashtags which aren't as effective and I'm sure they'll shut that down too. O well, nothing useful really lost.

landcoctos··on Instagram now forces people to sign in to view public profiles
>Who cares if they ban it eventually!

They will.

landcoctos··on Instagram now forces people to sign in to view public profiles
They started locking down other areas a few months ago. I used to browse public pictures using "locations" which was one of the first items to require a login. Frustrating but I just use the service less. And no, I will not create a login.
landcoctos··on Sun Belt Cities Are Dangerous Places to Walk
That sounds like a different issue. Parents who still drive but don't want to wait in line so they park in the surrounding neighborhood. Trying to find a loophole.

I'd like to hear why someone who lives a few blocks away can't walk from their house to school and pick up their child.

landcoctos··on Sun Belt Cities Are Dangerous Places to Walk
> In many places, it's not that difficult to get into local politics and start making a difference.

I've recently discovered this. You are are absolutely correct. I'm helping make my "small" City more walk and bike able.

landcoctos··on Sun Belt Cities Are Dangerous Places to Walk
> I live 0.1 mile away from my kids' school, but cannot walk over there to pick them up, I have to get in a queue of cars that leads almost to my house

Can you elaborate? This is beyond ridiculous.

landcoctos··on “We have no reason to believe 5G is safe”
My City has them or they are under permitting for "towers" (of 30 feet or so) on nearly every block. Some right next to residences, daycares, schools, offices, etc.

landcoctos··on 5G Mobile Networks: A Systems Approach
I think one of the concerns is in the past a cell tower would cover a large area and thus not many people were close to them.

Now with 5G towers and their much shorter range people are finding these all over the place, in cities on nearly every block and thus many more people are much closer to the towers than before.
