So many gems on this site.
Think it's pretty reasonable to assume these things become integrated with childhood over time in the same way other screens have.
I'd be screwed without Notes. It's a repository of so many abstract thoughts that I have no place thinking about all day. There's simply too much going on.
Having things written down in shorthand like a prompt is so handy when I have some time to go back and browse the gallery of good and bad ideas.
But heard through the grapevine back in 2010 or so. Joined and have lurked here everyday more or less since and always find something interesting. Kind of a homepage really.
Had I know I'd be here 13 years later I wouldn't have made such an ironic username lol.
Eating like shit has also really impacted the way I look at the world and gave me a much deeper appreciation for everything good in my life. Nothing like deep burger regret to put into perspective what's important.
Oh yeah and I've become a pick-up artist. Not really intelligence, per se, but I did pay $9000 in seminars and it's been a wild ride of self-discovery. I love being humbled by how great some of my competitors are at it, and it relaxes me knowing that it's something I can improve on yet never really care about being exceptional at.
Finally, I spend a lot of time observing sociopaths. When you actually dig into the lives of the people so many of us look up to, there's a lot of things in their lives that are either undesirable, or not any more figured out than most of us have it. So it helps in a weird way to go to the apex predators of our species who engage without the burden of moral artifacts.
Proposing new theories I'd be extremely skeptical of. It's just not what this thing is made to do.
While this is an undergraduate take, it doesn't discount it from being true.
Ah yes, those fine captains of industry from the Military Industrial Complex. Deeply enmeshed in the fabric of Washington policy and always acting for the benefits of freedom and democracy.
"A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small "inside" group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes." - Smedley Butler
Israel is, and will always be, internationally on the nose for what happened in that region and after the war. Even to people like me who are sympathetic to the historical persecution, brute forcing yourself onto a land you feel your people have a spiritual connection to and forming an ethnic state is regrettable.
I love Jewish people. I've met lots of amazing Israelis and understand the a fair bit about issues, but settling in that region was fucking silly and always going to yield this unending conflict and the dismay of the world.
Anyway, I don't have the inclination to engage in heated online discussions. I may read if you reply but will not respond.
Are you kidding? The vaccines are the most politicised issue of the last 10 years. With the left and right wing media bating their respective audiences with dehumanising terms like 'antivaxxers' and 'face-diaper people', our society became incredibly tribalised on this issue.
Whether the vaccines are or are not to blame, good luck getting any social consensus. This is akin to religion now.
I rarely get enthusiastic about apps, but it's awesome when one clearly demonstrates a team having gone 'how can we get this right'?
Shutter and ISO are subtle and predictable variants that you know exactly what tweaking them will do. Computational photography is a black box.
A little pricey for what it is, but it is really a no-brainer when you think of how crucial restful sleep is.

It's a misallocation of incentives for what gets built these days.
There's also a huge survivorship bias with old buildings that nobody ever seems to talk about, but that's a whole other thread...
If you're having to use reverse engineering and problem solving to form emotional connections, then you might want to spend the time in therapy and working through what caused you to be emotionally stunted.
I start with mainstream news first thing in the morning to see the prevailing narrative / propaganda people are being fed.
From there I go to broadsheet left and non-loony right-wing sources to find alternative perspectives.
I enjoy critical thinking amd take everything pretty lightly, so I don't really get too upset about stuff. Life and relationships are far more important.
Why does everything have to be "optimized" with Paul? I'll take verbose misfires any day over rigid plain-speak.
I do love this quote of course (and all things Aurelius).
Either way, sorry to hear about his condition.
This will go well in Australia.
