kurt_··on Where to look for employee from Spain, France or Italy to work in Germany?
Have you considered employing them as remote workers ? You will not have problems with timezone/office-hours if you employ in EU countries and moving can be a problem for some people.

kurt_··on Ask HN: OSX vs Ubuntu for Ruby/Rails Development
I never has a mac and i'm using linux-based distros for 8 years now. I love rails and i'm happy with the following setup:

Elementary OS Luna beta (based on Ubuntu LTS (http://elementaryos.org), "rbenv" as ruby version manager (https://github.com/sstephenson/rbenv), "bundler" as gem packages manager (http://bundler.io), Sublime Text and vim as code editor (http://www.sublimetext.com) and SQlite as developement database (or simply install PostgreSQL or MySQL throught apt-get package manager)

kurt_··on Ask HN: How do blind people code and work with terminals?
Hi, when i was in training some time ago, my IT manager was totally blind and use a braille tablet to read its screen. Characters was translated into braille and 'printed' to it's tablet. He has no need for a screen and use a regular keyboard. He also use a screen reader app for emails, internet and documents.
kurt_··on Show HN: Helishopter - real social shopping
I like your landing page, because it's simple and your video explain what your service do pretty well.

After viewing the video, i still have two questions unanswered: - Does my friend i need to ask about a product need to have an account on this site ? - Does it cost anything or it's just free (aka: what do i need to pay if i want to use your service ?)

Another thing that blocked me: on the video, your product's UI seems very simple, but after going to your blog and followed a link, i was on this page and it's seemed more complicated than on the video: [Spotify list](http://helishopter.com/jamespember/spotify/spotifypremium12m...). For example, what are all these spotify icons ?

What i like: - your design - the video (really well made !) - how your explain what your product do

kurt_··on Ask HN: Need a policy on log retention. Suggestions?
> What to keep and for how long time ?

Try to make the data anonymous when possible (remove from log file all potential personnal data, not needed by your data process). If usernames are kept and can contain personnal data, if you don't need these data, remove them from log file.

Log only valuable data you need and only for the amout of time you need them.

> Is there any guideline here ?

In Europe, you have the obligation to retain all informations needed to identify the owner of an online publication.

"This Directive aims to harmonise Member States’ provisions concerning the obligations of the providers of publicly available electronic communications services or of public communications networks with respect to the retention of certain data which are generated or processed by them, in order to ensure that the data are available for the purpose of the investigation, detection and prosecution of serious crime, as defined by each Member State in its national law." - Directive 2006/24/EC - http://bit.ly/HxZcW

If you are based in Europe, you must refer to your national law for more informations.
