kunkelast··on Hyperinflation and Trust in Ancient Rome
So, digital unregulated and decentralized payment solutions, like Bitcoin, are the solution? What about those people who can't make their own financial plans, because they are just too stupid for that? They need government to help them. And those people are in majority.
kunkelast··on Eric's Guide to Hiring Software Developers
I know one team that is doing everything the other way around. They don't inverview their new hires, they don't test them, they basically take everybody who wants to join and let them show themselves. Aside from that, they rely on newcomers public profiles, in GitHub, StackOverflow, and so on. Check this out: https://www.yegor256.com/2016/03/01/how-we-interview-program...
kunkelast··on Trying to Convince People to Change (2016)
You don't change people. You change the rules and they either adapt or find a better place with better and more suitable rulles. This is what freedom is about, and a good management.

I like this blog post about this problem: https://www.yegor256.com/2018/10/09/can-you-control-us.html

kunkelast··on Complex System Failure: The Whole Is More Than the Sum of Its Parts
These larger paragraphs are so difficult to read... The text seem to be written for Google bot, not for real readers :(
kunkelast··on In a small trial, drugs seemed to rejuvenate the body’s ‘epigenetic clock’

kunkelast··on Building and Motivating Engineering Teams (2016)
I would recommend this blog post about this very subject: https://www.yegor256.com/2017/09/19/what-motivates-me.html (to show the other side of the story, from the PoV of a programmer)
kunkelast··on A Philosopher Reviews Judea Pearl's “The Book of Why”
This is the content I like to see at HN most of all. Good article, thanks for sharing.
kunkelast··on Secushare: A decentralized, secure social network built on GNUnet
That's the solution we need, to replace Facebook and Twitter! :) I'm in.
kunkelast··on Graphics Programming Black Book by Michael Abrash (2001)
I read it long time ago, good book!
kunkelast··on Weighted blankets might ease insomnia and anxiety
I've heard that knights a few centuries ago were sleeping in chairs. Only slaves were sleeping in horizontal position. I'm not sure whether it's true or not, but this is what a tour guide told me.
kunkelast··on How an Immutable Object Can Have State and Behavior?
How about ByteArrayOutputStream? Where would it keep that bytes?
kunkelast··on OOP Alternative to Utility Classes
especially in Java :(
kunkelast··on ORM Is an Offensive Anti-Pattern
In my experience, every time we tried to replace SQL with something else (last time it was Zend Framework with its SQL request builder), the entire project code base turned into a heap of mysteries... Since then, in every project, no matter how complex or simple it is, we try to stay with plain old SQL queries.
kunkelast··on Auto-Increment for DynamoDB IDs
I see a github Python SDK repo, but it's empty. No Ruby also... only Java: https://github.com/sttc
kunkelast··on Object-Oriented Email Sending Java SDK
What is wrong with Apache Commons Email?
kunkelast··on Your friends are lying to you. For $10, I wont.
good point :)
