kull··on Ask HN: What happened to YC Podcast?
it’s June 2020. No new episodes? Did they give up on the podcast?
kull··on Ask HN: Google won't remove my site URL from random business using it on Maps
I am trying to change our business location on google maps for the last 6 months.
kull··on Ask HN: What are your favorite Jira alternatives?
Youtrack by jetbrains. They have recently introduced new cheaper plans , for small teams it’s really free.

We switched from JIRA. Best decision ever.

kull··on Why people hate contemporary architecture (2017)
I am buying a house and I spent months to find this perfect, simple, contemporary design. This article made me think a lot about my choice of architecture for my home. In my mind, living in ‘boring’, modern, blank, mostly empty spaces gives me a taste of how in my mind the future, 300y from now will look. Less colors and sharp edges bring to my mind less chaos, gives a sense of minimalism and simplicity. I do not want my physical space taking my attention, too many colors and shapes do not help me to think. I make my living from thinking and living my digital life, contemporary design aligns with it.
kull··on A third of Americans now show signs of clinical anxiety or depression
So true. I also feel less pressure. In normal times, you should be out Friday evening, now it’s normal to stay home alone.
kull··on Restaurants rebel against delivery apps as cities crack down on fees
For some apps they give you incentives like points that you gain with each purchase to get your free meal later.
kull··on Ask HN: What's the cheapest ACH payment processor for marketplaces?
Check Braintree
kull··on Introducing Facebook Shops
Any idea how to apply for the early access to this api?
kull··on Having trouble with the IRS site? Try all caps
Thank you! The current Internet is not usable, all those paywalls. I miss 2000s.
kull··on Amazon AppFlow
Youtrack
kull··on Ask HN: If not Zoom. What to use for large group video with breakout rooms?
Google hangouts / meet
kull··on Ask HN: How is there not a good online conference company?
As much as I am pro remote at work, things I enjoy about in person conferences are visiting a new city and attending sessions and presentations I would probably skip if available online (I can watch it later, but it’s never gonna happen).
kull··on Intuit to buy Credit Karma for $7B
Any good credit karma alternatives? Seems we must switch.
kull··on Every Google result now looks like an ad
Not many posts get close to 3k upvotes on HN.
kull··on Goodbye, New York, California and Illinois – Hello where?
Go Austin!
kull··on DigitalOcean is laying off staff
Thank you for this comment. We run our startup on DO and seeing news like this always make me wonder if I should start looking for plan B, a new server provider. Your service is outstanding and a transition of 30+ large droplets to some other provider would be painful so I really hope you guys are doing well.
kull··on How to Make Remote a Success
Thank you, https://about.gitlab.com/handbook/communication/ - great resource. It seems they have a pretty bold typo there. ~Communciation~ Communication?
kull··on Tell HN: Google should drop Quora from search results
Yes, I have not really ever found any satisfying answer on quota.

Wondering, wow many upvotes a post like this needs to get attention from somebody from google?

kull··on Ask HN: What printer do you recommend for rare printing?
Any brother
kull··on It costs $1,800 to get an engineering job offer
We do the same, first non-technical interview, and we reject most candidates due to the cultural fit issues. It’s too expensive to involve dev resources into the process first. In our process: if you are friendly, sound smart and enthusiastic, you get the tech challenge as the next step.
kull··on Microsoft Japan’s 3-day weekend boosts worker productivity
How do you implement such amazing perk for customer support team in a bootstrap startup where cash and people is a limited resource, but your customers need support at least during the office hours? I guess I should not dream about it now , as such experiments work only for companies with a lot of money or departments which do not need their work to be done in a specific time during a day?
kull··on Ask HN: What are you using as an issue tracker in 2019?
Youtrack
kull··on Ask HN: Do You Release on Fridays?
Big releases - weekends only, usually Saturday morning. The least impact on customers in case something goes wrong and you still have entire weekend to roll back or fix, while not many may even notice.
kull··on Launch HN: Dashblock (YC S19) – Turn Any Website into an API
I installed it but It didn’t get me data I needed. I am still gonna use parsehub which allows me to easily go up and down in the html tree to get data hidden under layers of divs.
kull··on Basecamp's Protest Google Ad
We had a competition using our name in ads, we sent complain to google legal team as we have trademark on our company name. It fixed the issue of competitors not using our name in the content of ads but they still show ads when our name is googled. At one point we just gave up to fight with it.
kull··on Spam in Your Calendar? Here’s What to Do
For spam in google calendar you just turn off the option that is automatically accepting incoming calendar invites.
kull··on Show HN: Zepel, a Jira alternative for product teams
It is super hard to switch to the new platform for bugs reporting / tickets. You just do not want to lose all the old tickets and then retrain your team, then there is a big probability the new tool is not that great after all.

We switched from JIRA to youTrack[1] and it was one of our best business decisions recently. It is not perfect, but we will switch again, only if a really superior tool arrives and when it is maintained with some larger company that we know will not go away anytime soon.

BTW. Zepel looks very sleek.

kull··on “New home page seems like Stack Overflow doesn't allow free use any more”
Based on my own experience, the way I find answered on SO is by searching on Google. Maybe they just see all the traffic coming to them from the search engines, nobody, unless already logged in, really go to SO.com and type a question. Maybe not logged in users on the homepage are usually people trying to buy a software for their team or more business, finance people, stockholders?
kull··on Ask HN: How is that legal for companies to send spam/ads letters?
I use virtual office and paying for each incoming mail, so this really costs me money.
kull··on Show HN: Read all Medium stories for free
Why is this in Ask HN, instead of Show ?
