The land of the free and the home of the brave. Of course free, as long as you want to shoot school children, not if you want to openly express yourself. Brave as long as it's a defenceless third world country, terrified, if it is someone who is transgender or intersex or free thinking or compassionate or not Trump supporting or not Israel supporting..... And so on.
Having been in 2019, I wouldn't say it was worth the hype anyway. Just a countdown with a hat, and that is it. They understandably want to avoid the risk of any possible crush situation like Itaewon in Seoul in 2022, which these events are prone to. Especially considering the amount of barriers that are installed all around the scramble crossing on the station entrance side.
I am always vastly impressed by the beauty of instrumental albums, and just how memorable and easy listening they are. Eno is of course so high up the list, but as I have got older I have explored instrumental music, from classical to jazz far more and there is true beauty and artistry in conveying your message and making people feel with just instruments and no words.
It is a great little programming language to simulate and even learn about quantum physics and computing , as is Xanadu's strawberry fields for photonic quantum computers. There are a great range of summer school content from the IBM qiskit summer school they used to run.
What are your stats measuring good and bad and therefore what do you count as worse? Would it be better all have a home, job, access to education, food?
Are we saying that worldwide the significant changes are exclusively government failures worldwide? A government works with a people led view, not the grifters that exist at the moment, hence why I do not agree a publicly employed person should be allowed to have another job.
It will only get worse whilst costs are not regulated of essentials such as housing, food, utilities, and public transport. The rich need to be taxed on all UK based assets and income no matter where you live and we need to restrict profit and pricing accordingly. We can't keep being held hostage by those who wish to increase their bank balance year on year. Now we have no incentive right now as those who are in government make far too much from the status quo. We need to remove this current governmental style by removing the option to have multiple jobs and remove the ability to be given cash or any benefits from private companies whilst working for the public. Capitalism is failing the vast majority and we need to realise that.
It depends how the other contributors are gained. If they choose to help voluntarily, then they have no claim on the development of the project. They can help to mould it as they choose but that is it. If it doesn't go the way they want they have no right to oust the creator.
But if it is someone's project, why should they have to leave if governance doesn't go the way they wish? The point of open source is sharing your work so others can use it and edit it. They have done their part and they maintain it as they choose whether that suits who uses it or not. I create open source projects myself, because they are applications I need or want. They are open source licensed so feel free to use them as such but my original code will develop and evolve as I choose.
What facts have you provided that I have ignored? You stated that a community college degree costs between $10,000 to $30,000 over the course of length from starting to qualifying. Therefore it covers approx 1/2 to 1/6 of that. However living costs (which you have failed to mention), which I would say depending (on research done when I considered a post grad in the US) on where you are will approx be $1500 to 3000. Now I read it can take 2 to 4 years depending on if you want an associates degree or a bachelors. Therefore living costs for 2 years can be from $36,000 to $72,000, and for 4 years $72,000 to $144,000. I do not understand why you are choosing to ignore the numbers. It seems a completely bias interpretation of the facts.
That doesn't include food, living costs, general life expenses. That makes it closer to $100,000. I stand by what I said $5000 and stating it can be spent on tuition or living costs is not really going to make a dent in the decision to go to college or trade school.
I like the idea a lot more than other implementations (although I still think the original google glass was great), but I do feel the market for these, outside of the bankers and financial industry that loves to show off with tech, is primarily dorks like myself, and dorks like myself often like to be able to fiddle. The fact I can't be trusted to install applications that I can make as I go with an easy to use api seems a mistake. I see the even hub but that seems far off considering there is no details about it.
People on here surprise me sometimes with what they down vote. $4 million dollars is 0.00002162% of the total revenue Ford US had in 2024. When you put that little value on future employees and skills, it is clear why you have such a struggle finding competent staff.
I don't doubt they will give it out, it's just it doesn't state that is the total cost of the program to become a technician. When college for many costs up to and beyond $100,000, providing just 5% of the cost, is hardly worth shouting about. It definitely isn't a big enough gesture for a company that had revenue of $185 billion in 2024. I am sensing they could find a touch more to actually pay for workers to become technicians for their company, that would benefit them. They could even set up their own program/apprenticeship.
I'm extremely upset by her death as she was a real hero of mine. I was homeless in the 00's and could code and it was my way out of being homeless. I used to go to the internet cafe on Tottenham Court Road in London to hone my skills and work on a project I could use to get work. I ended up being lucky that a very kind guy offered me a job after seeing what I was doing and my life changed from that moment. Hearing her story since then made her feel like a kindred spirit.
Ford spending $4 million to fund scholarships is going to make as much change to the system as me giving a homeless person a quarter. Considering how expensive college is, what exactly will that fund.
Is that because there is a pressure to publish? As I wouldn't say we make advancements at a rate any different during the last two decades than we have over the 20 years prior to that.
Yes, it's true we have been and are only becoming a heartless country exclusively focusing on making an enemy of difference whilst lining the pockets of the wealthiest even further.
The issue is tech isn't as simple as that, vpn's are key in many jobs, are they banned? It is the same issue when they ask for backdoors in every messaging app. It is rational if you don't think any deeper than surface level but once you dig an inch deep, it is clear why it isn't rational.
