kristofferR··on ChatGPT Pro 500
Migrating takes minutes, no need to do the changeover to worse local models until the situation is truly dire.
kristofferR··on Grok 4.7
It would make the benchmark way better obviously, by showing how their new model compares to their competitors, the whole point of benchmarks and graphs.
kristofferR··on Grok 4.7
Pulled out from letting them resell Astra access, that's not a limitation on running a benchmark.
kristofferR··on Grok 4.7
That's not accurate. OpenAI doesn't allow Grok to provide Astra to Cursor customers anymore, but it doesn't ban anyone from using Astra via alternative harnesses.

If Cursor wanted to include Astra in CursorBench nothing would stop them, they could easily have spent half an hour vibecoding in OpenAI API key support - if it hadn't been convenient to neglect to do that.

kristofferR··on macOS 27: Workaround to avoid downloading AI models and save storage
macOS 27 is way faster and more stable than macOS 26 though, so unless you are on an ancient version it doesn't make sense to not upgrade.
kristofferR··on Grok 4.7
What's with the deceptive graph on top? Not including Astra can't have been an oversight, did the model compare poorly to it?
kristofferR··on Warez: The Infrastructure and Aesthetics of Piracy (2021)
Cool, will be spending hours today listening to it!

Frankly .tk domain is as much of a nostalgia hit as the music, weren't aware it is still around.

kristofferR··on We must pace the frontier
Cloud models will always have massive benefits of scale.

Caching is the simplest one to understand, cloud providers often reach a 90% cache hit rate, so hosting the same request locally on the exact same model on the same hardware is often way less efficient than on the cloud where a group of users generates a healthy cache.

kristofferR··on iPhone Duo
That's not true, the journalists are hands on with it right now.

Here's a live stream of the popular obnoxious streamer, he held it a few minutes ago (also talked with MKBHD).

kristofferR··on Claude, change the "Add to Cart" button to blue
Yeah, but it's not funny since it doesn't match reality.
kristofferR··on ChatGPT Is Throwing 404
That makes no sense, they should be able to host chatgpt.com regardless and just say "Sorry, we're at capacity" or something instead of hard 404
kristofferR··on Google Antigravity TOS: 3rd party usage can get Google account suspended
Yes. I'd avoid using services like this.
kristofferR··on Elevated Errors for Multiple Models
This ain't just slow/at capacity, this is dead down.
kristofferR··on ChatGPT Is Throwing 404
Wooohoo, was in bad need of a reset!
kristofferR··on Google Antigravity TOS: 3rd party usage can get Google account suspended
So? There's still a connection to products not provided by them.

Remember that this is a TOS, so you gotta presume that they will act as malicious as possible within the text.

kristofferR··on Gemini-3.5-Transcribe
" Your Google Cloud billing account is being processed. Processing time varies from a few moments to a few weeks. "

What kind of bullshit is this? I want to test out Gemini-3.5-Transcribe in my app, but have to wait a completely indeterminate time, have already waited over 24 hours. OpenRouter took seconds to set up

kristofferR··on Omarchy development practices lead to predictable security issues
They have their own apps and repos. By your standard Ubuntu is a bunch of dotfiles on top of Debian
kristofferR··on Omarchy development practices lead to predictable security issues
Come on, this is so dishonest, his personality has basically nothing to do with Omarchys popularity, and it has loads of merit. It's way more pleasant to use than all other distros I've tried.

To claim that it is super simple for everyone to transform Arch into Omarchy clones without reading the Omarchy repos and that everyone should just do that instead because of politics is beyond absurd.

kristofferR··on Omarchy development practices lead to predictable security issues
> Creating a useful product that people want -- this is the hard part.

When you do that you'll just a bunch of people clowning on the project due to the politics of the founder.

kristofferR··on Omarchy development practices lead to predictable security issues
Just hype, it's Kagi all over again. People said the same thing there, we're just too cynical, not used to people getting excited about really cool stuff anymore.
kristofferR··on Omarchy development practices lead to predictable security issues
Yeah, this is so annoying.

I switched to Omarchy 4.0 from CachyOS and is having an amazing experience so far, barely know anything about DHH other than that he made Rails, and now everybody is calling me a racist sympathizer.

kristofferR··on Omarchy development practices lead to predictable security issues
It's AI and dev forward in a brilliant way. It ships with its own skill [1], so agents actually work way better out of the box than on other distros.

Something crashes? Click the notification and your agent solves the bug.

It also has a very standardized UI library and a good plugin system.

Due to those things the list of plugins is increasing by hundreds a day [2], I made one that adds Exposé like for macOS myself a few days ago.

Most of them are actually good, and unlike other distros they look visually consistent. Customizing your system and participating in the community has never been this easy. Incredibly fun, feels like being a kid in a candyshop.

Wenghi is behind DeepSWE, one of the best benchmarks.

kristofferR··on Ask HN: Alternatives to GitHub
If anything it seems like you are the one with an attention span problem when you can't remember that he posted the correct consise definition earlier in this thread. Being a dick when justified is counter-productive, but being a dick while also being the one who is confused is a way worse look.
kristofferR··on Improving GPT‑5.6 Sol in ChatGPT, expanding GPT‑5.6 Luna access for free users
Sure, but you don't represent the average ChatGPT free user in that case probably. I regularly do super complicated queries that Pro spends ages replying to, but yesterday I also asked if chilis are toxic, or just unpleasant, for dogs, and if other species other than flamingos get colored by the food they eat.
kristofferR··on Improving GPT‑5.6 Sol in ChatGPT, expanding GPT‑5.6 Luna access for free users
90+% of queries are probably so common/evergreen that, if a cheaper model made all the different language varients and ways of asking the question into one query, they could be cached quite effectively.
kristofferR··on AI financial advice is surprisingly good, especially if you ask right questions
I built my own financial dashboard and used Enable Banking Accounts API, it's free to use for such limited usage, and they support most European banks at least.

kristofferR··on Moonshine: Lets you stream games from your PC to any device running Moonlight
Vibepollo is damn great, best solution on Windows by far. Totally painless and damn smooth, don't diss it because of its vibecoding.
kristofferR··on Is this the end of the once-mighty GoPro?
That's fine for flat videos, but 360 videos usually need processing before they're usable. I'm unsure if there are other software options that handle Insta360 360 videos well.
